When she married Prince Harry on May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle became the Duchess of Sussex and closed her personal Instagram account, as well as her blog, The Tig.

After nearly a year, the Duchess is back on social media, sharing an Instagram account with her husband.

“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”

A RIGHT ROYAL INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

On April 2, 2019, the Dukes of Sussex launched their own official account: @sussexroyal.

The Royal couples' comings and goings had previously been chronicled by the official Kensington Palace Instagram account, @kensingtonroyal, which they "shared" with Prince William and Duchess Kate.

The only other Royals with their own Instagram pages are Prince Andrew, and his daughter, Princess Eugenie.

SHARING THEIR LIVES WITH THE PEOPLE

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have proved to be a new breed of Royals, open and demonstrative with the public.

The Instagram account will allow them to share their interests, their projects, and their views directly with the public.

THE ROYAL FAMILY AND SOCIAL MEDIA

Up until now, the Royal Family's adhesion to social media has been carefully controlled.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not post personally, all their communication is done through Kensington Palace's official Twitter and Instagram accounts.

The only other Royals with their own Instagram pages are Prince Andrew, and his daughter, Princess Eugenie.

With the birth of the Dukes of Sussex's baby due any day, the public can look forward to getting a closer look into the life of the Royal family.

THE PUBLIC SPECULATES ABOUT THE DUCHESS' DUE DATE

When the Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry announced they were expecting a baby on October 15. 2018, during their Australian visit, the British public started laying bets about the baby's due date.

The new Royal baby is at the center of a flurry of bets on anything and everything, from the date of birth, sex and the name of the Queen's newest great-grandchild.

The public speculates that the new baby will be a girl - and named to honor her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

The Royal couple is getting ready for the big day, and moving out of Kensington Palace into their own home in Windsor, Frogmore cottage.

Fans of the Royals should keep an eye on the new Instagram account for updates on the move, and hopefully, photos of the new home.
