In honor of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with the baby almost due, relatives on Meghan’s mother, Gloria Ragland’s side, threw her a baby shower in Jonesboro, Georgia, where her roots lie.

The baby shower got done British style as snacks included sandwiches with the crusts cut off and the serving of tea.

“Strong women run in our family. She's a strong woman, and we are very proud of her,” one cousin said of Meghan while another cousin, Dorothy shared a never before seen picture of Meghan’s fourth-great-grandparents on their wedding day in 1869.

The handful of relatives were all smiles as they celebrated while eagerly awaiting the birth of baby Sussex.

In February Meghan did travel stateside where she attended her lavish baby shower on February 19 in New York.

Held at The Mark Hotel, it boasts with a $75,000-a-night penthouse suite, which Serena Williams rented for the occasion. The tennis star also co-hosted the grand affair with Meghan’s longtime friend, Amal Clooney.

The handful of close friends that attended the special day also included her stylist and close friend, Jessica Mulroney and Abigail Spencer, who got spotted with Meghan throughout the week.

Gayle King also showed up with a big bag of goodies while Misha Nonoo wouldn’t miss Meghan’s baby shower either.

But apparently, there was another baby shower on the way. Reports had it that Kate Middleton planned on a private family baby shower for Meghan once the couple returned from their Moroccan trip.

Doria Ragland did not attend Meghan’s New York baby shower, and it made sense after the royal correspondent, Omid Scobie posted that “a smaller gathering is scheduled for pals on this side of the pond (England) after Morocco.”

A royal insider also told Us Weekly that Kate would host the intimate celebration.“There is still going to be some sort of private baby-centric event for Meghan’s U.K. people, and Kate will host... Her glam people and other relatives will be there. Not sure if it’s a total baby ‘shower,’ but you could probably call it that," the insider reportedly said.

However, no reports had surfaced about the planned affair afterward or even if and when it happened. If the Royals wanted to keep the affair private, they succeeded.

Meghan’s resolve for privacy have come through rather strong during her pregnancy and kept most of the details regarding baby Sussex to themselves.

The only proper announcement about Meghan’s pregnancy got made by Buckingham Palace on April 11.

In their statement, they said that the royal couple would not be sharing the baby’s birth with the world until they, as first-time parents, had the chance to celebrate as a new family. This, in part, lead many to suspect that Meghan may have already given birth.
