On Wednesday, “Riverdale” aired their last episode with the late actor Luke Perry. The episode left his fans under mourning again for the late star that passed away this year.

Many of the show’s viewers took to social media to share their heartbreak

“Riverdale’s” latest episode was titled "Chapter Fifty-Four: Fear the Reaper." The CW teen drama series’ episode centered on Jughead Jones who is played by Cole Sprouse.

The hour-long episode featured Jones and his family getting involved in a dangerous game of Griffins & Gargoyles in order to save Jellybean. Fans also got to see how Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) dealt with the death of his boxing opposition, Randy Ronson.

Elio blamed Archie for supplying Ronson with performance-enhancing drugs for their boxing match. Needing support, Archie turned to his father, Fred Andrews, played by Luke Perry, for advice.

For his last scene of the show, Fred told Archie: "Son, from everything you've said, it's clear that Randy died from those drugs." He confidently added: "An autopsy will support that. You're innocent."

Fans were distraught and took to social media to praise the late actor’s performance and to mourn his death once more. Someone titled “barbi” on Twitter wrote: “tonight is Luke Perry’s last epi on #Riverdale.. even though I know he’s gone, idk if I can deal knowing it’s his last.. how are they gonna write him off?? #feelingemotional #RIPlukePerry”

Monica Welsh wrote

“this is going to break my heart all over again. miss #lukeperry every day hard to believe that he died over a month ago. am going to miss Fred Andrews so much. truly my fave Dad on #Riverdale…”

Another Twitter user with the handle “Eva” added

“I'll cheerish [sic] this scene forever. I'm going to miss the father/son moments so much because Fred's hands down best father on Riverdale. Also it's still hard to grasp the feeling Luke is really gone. I teared up while reading this post. #RIPLukePerry”

Someone called Caitlyn wrote: ‏"I’m so not ready for this episode... I cant [sic] believe after this episode their [sic] will be no more Fred Andrews scenes.” Others believed the episode was tribute enough to the late actor.

A user with the handle "*Watever It Takes*"‏ simply added: "That hurt to watch #Riverdale #RiPLukePerry Never Forgotten." Perry, 52, passed away in March after suffering a massive stroke at his home.

On Sunday, “Riverdale’s” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to Twitter to reveal that Wednesday’s episode would be the last time fans would see Perry. He wrote: “This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever..”
