Kate Middleton and Prince William Shared Their Thoughts on the Arrival of Baby Sussex
The birth of Prince Harris and Duchess Meghan’s first son delighted a lot of people, including his uncle and aunt Prince William and Duchess Kate.
Soon after Meghan and Harris’ baby boy was born on May 6 – weighing 7lbs 3oz – the proud father showed his excitement in front of the cameras. In the short message he shared, Harry said that his boy and wife were doing “incredibly well.”
One of the aspects that some people expected he would have shared was the baby’s name, especially because he was born one week overdue and they had some extra time to think about it. However, the Prince said that they were still thinking about names.
“I’m very pleased to welcome my own brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!”
Finally, Harry said that in two days (May 8) his family would share more information about the baby Prince, probably including his name and finally showing him to the world.
WILLIAM AND KATE’S THOUGHTS ON THE BABY
Soon after the birth, the Instagram account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the official announcement. Kensington Palace’s account reposted it and added William and Kate’s thoughts on the wonderful news.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” read the caption.
WELCOMING HIS BROTHER TO PARENTING
One day after the birth, William and Kate were asked again about Harris and Meghan’s baby, and William pointed out that they were “absolutely thrilled,” that they were looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when “he’s quietened down.”
He finished the interview with a joke: “I’m very pleased to welcome my own brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!”
THE REST OF THE FAMILY’S THOUGHTS
In a statement released by Buckingham Palace, they pointed out that The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and Earl Spencer knew about the birth and were delighted about it.
The statement also made clear that Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was “overjoyed” as the boy is her first grandchild. Doria was with the Royal couple at Frogmore Cottage.
Meghan and Harry announced the pregnancy to family and friends at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in October 2018. Only one month later, Kate admitted to being excited about her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, welcoming a cousin.
