Brandy Shares Pics from Bahamas Vacation with Daughter Sy'rai

Brandy Norwood got to spend some quality time with her daughter Sy’rai in the Bahamas, and she took to Instagram to share some pics from the memorable trip.

The 40-year-old star had the chance to perform some of her songs at a private event in the Bahamas, and afterward, she enjoyed the paradisiac beaches with her teen daughter and some other friends.

Brandy made sure to share her joy with fans, posting several pics from the trip on Instagram where she showed off her bohemian-beach look.

In most of the shots, Norwood is rocking a white robe over a black and blue swimsuit, sunglasses, and lots of bracelets. She also donned a floral dress at the airport, and a pair of different hats to add more flare to her looks.

The singer posed with a starfish, aboard a jet ski, and with Sy’rai, and she also shared some videos from her flawless performance.

“Thank you, God, for such a beautiful moment in the #Bahamas ?? I got a chance to do what I love to do and share the love with my baby @syraismith -@layiahboss @frankgatson and the rest of the crew. #LoveIsAllThereIs,” she captioned the slideshow of photos.

FANS’ REACTIONS

Fans were quick to fill the comment section with praises for “the vocal bible,” as they call her.

“Awwe! I’m so glad you got to bring your baby and enjoy the Bahamas!! Love it there!” wrote one user.

Another added, “Yessssssss brandy. You look amazing, and you sound just like an angel. Continue to let the light shine in you. Love you babes.”

And a third one chimed in to say,

INSECURE VS. INSECURITIES

Brandy is currently starring on Fox’s series “Star,” alongside Queen Latifah.

Talking about her relationship with the rapper/actress in a recent interview with Essence, Norwood revealed that the best advice she has gotten from Latifah is “don’t forget to breathe.”

“That’s huge for me to hear because I’ll find myself not breathing and getting scared because there are some really tough scenes and I’m working with A-list actors, and I’m like, oh my god, am I doing the right thing?” she explained.

Brandy also talked about her insecurities, revealing that there’s a difference between being insecure and having insecurities.

“It’s important for people to know that there’s a difference,” she stated, and continued:

“So, I separate myself from the insecurity. But I can recognize that something is troubling me. I’m bigger than my insecurities, and I prove that every time I walk on a stage. So, if it doesn’t cripple me, then I’m in charge. I’m running it.”

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER

Brandy’s daughter, Sy’rai, has that same mentality.

The 16-year-old made headlines last year when she addressed her self-image issues on an Instagram live, using her own experience to encourage other young girls who, like her, have struggled with that kind of insecurity.

“There can be a beautiful person in a beautiful body, but in the inside, they can be so ugly. I’m not the skinniest… If you really want to change, change because you really want to change, don’t change because other people are saying oh you’re a big girl or you’re fat,” she said.

And added,

“Don’t ever let anyone else tell you who you are… Nobody’s going to care about your weight as long as you walk in that school with confidence.”

Sy’rai not inherited her mom’s thoughtfulness but also her music talent.

Although there hasn’t been an official announcement about Sy’rai making her way into the industry, she loves singing and has been featured on her mom’s social media showing off her powerful vocals.

Meanwhile, the girl will be making her debut as the co-founder of an apparel brand this year.
