Blake Shelton Shares Gwen Stefani’s Reaction to His Idea That She Should Be the One to Propose

When Blake Shelton is not coaching aspiring musicians on the voice, he is busy coming up with new ideas of marriage proposals. The country singer revealed just how his girlfriend Gwen Stefani reacted to his idea of her proposing to him.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been an item for quite some time now, but their partnership hasn’t yet led to any official wedding announcements or at the very least, a proposal.

Many fans of the pair have been on the lookout for news concerning their official union, and Ellen DeGeneres echoed such feelings when Blake appeared on her show. It was there that Blake shared his idea of how a marriage proposal should be.

In the show, Ellen gave Shelton a clock which had the faces of him and Gwen, to remind him that time was ticking for both of them, and they should make their relationship official.

When presented with the gift, the singer flipped the coin on Gwen to propose by asking Ellen if the gift meant that there was a chance of Gwen asking him to marry her.

Ellen replied by promising to call Gwen that night and coax her to pop the question since she (Gwen) now knew it was in her hands after watching the show and seeing the clock.

The country singer shared Gwen’s reaction to his idea of her having to propose to him when he was caught up by reporters from "ETonline". He revealed that she told him that it was not going to work that way.

Sources close to Gwen also said she is a traditional person and that there was no way she would propose to him. The country singer sure has more cajoling to do if he is going to make his idea work, or he better stick to the conventional way.

Gwen and Blake have been dating since 2015 after they met on the set of the popular music talent show, "The Voice". The couple’s relationship has gotten very serious over the years, and Gwen seems to have connected with Blake’s three sons, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.

The "The Voice" coach also sees their relationship as being much more than dating as he feels it is something that is meant to be.

Fans of the pair would be hoping one of them goes down on one knee to propose, and also be hoping that Ellen’s magical clock works the same miracle it did with Jennifer Lopez and A-Rod. One week after Ellen presented the clock to Lopez, A-Rod got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.
