Diddy Tearful Ahead of 1st Mother's Day Without Kim Porter
Sean "Diddy" Combs broke down on a podcast interview while talking about celebrating the first Mother's Day without Kim Porter.
It has been six months since Sean Combs lost the love of his life and the mother of three of his children Kim Porter.
Time is far from healing the rapper's wounds, as was evident from a podcast interview Diddy gave to Essence Magazine's Dream Hampton.
DIDDY'S HEARTBREAKING INTERVIEW
Diddy opened up to Hampton, who is a close friend, and poured out his enduring grief at the loss of the woman he calls his soulmate, Kim Porter.
“Anybody that’s lost a mother or lost a soulmate it takes time. It takes time. They say time heals all wounds when it comes to mothers…I don’t think that’s the case,” Diddy said.
KIM PORTER WAS SENT TO TEACH DIDDY ABOUT LOVE
An emotional Diddy confided in Hampton that he believes that Kim was sent into his life to teach him fundamental lessons about love and trust.
“God sent her for me to teach me something. There’s levels and dimensions to love, and especially love between a man and woman. There’s this place that almost goes beyond friendship. It’s where two people actually feel like a level of responsibility to love this person forever; and a total trust,” he said.
RAISING HIS TWIN DAUGHTERS ALONE
For Combs, the hardest has been helping his 12-year-old twin daughters D'Lila and Jessie deal with the pain of their mother's death. Diddy, who has 3 other children from other relationships, also shares 20-year-old son Christian with Kim.
Kim Porter, 47, succumbed to undiagnosed pneumonia, which she had mistaken for flu.
FACING MOTHER'S DAY WITHOUT KIM PORTER
For Combs and Kim's children, Mother's Day is going to be hard to face, but the rapper has revealed that they will be honoring her.
“Mother’s Day is going to hurt. We definitely are going to celebrate all the mothers. We’re not going to get in the way of that," Diddy said.
Diddy wanted to remind everyone that mothers are special and should be cherished.
THE COMBS FAMILY'S GRIEF
The Combs family was shattered when they learned on November 15, 2018, that the mother of 3 of Diddy children and on-again/off-again partner Kim Porter had passed away.
Kim Porter, 47, succumbed to undiagnosed pneumonia, which she had mistaken for flu.
Porter and Diddy share son Christian, 20, and the twins D'Lila Star and Jessie James, 12. Diddy was left to raise the twins alone.
The family also includes Porter’s son with singer Al B. Sure!, Quincy Brown, 27, and Diddy’s son with celebrity stylist Misa Hylton Brim, Justin Combs, 25; and .his 12-year-old daughter, Chance, whom he shares with Chapman.
Chance was born just weeks before the twins, giving rise to Porter and the rapper's breakup.
