Adam Levine Draws Attention for His Speech on Maelyn Jarmon's Performance
Always one to appreciate talent, Adam Levine left the audience in awe after his passionate speech on Maelyn Jarmon’s singing.
The most recent episode of the American singing competition, “The Voice” aired on Monday, May 13. It seemed like it was just going to be a drag for award-winning singer Adam Levine because all of his contestants had been eliminated on the show.
Then Maelyn Jarmon performed, and the “Girls Like You” singer couldn't keep his admiration to himself. Jarmon, who is on John Legend’s team, gave an excellent rendition of Rihanna's “Stay.”
Jarmon looked like she just walked out of a fairytale in a red gown designed with dramatic sleeves, a deep V-neckline, and a form-fitting bodice. The outfit went with the ethereal aura that came with the fantastic stage effects.
Jarmon left the entire audience awestruck when she got on the platform, which is a piano, and sang her soul out. Her vocal range is just fantastic as she took the keys from a reverberating low to a high pitch befitting of the emotional song. She finished the performance to a standing ovation from the broad audience.
There is no need arguing that she is one lady to watch out for on the music scene, and Levine sure noticed this. Starstruck, the Maroon 5 lead singer, held nothing back as he gave a rather lengthy speech commending the stunning singer. He said:
“Amazing, amazing. Look, I obviously don’t have a horse in this race. At this point, I’m just going to say: You definitely should win The Voice. I believe you should win The Voice. And the reason why is very simple. Look at the name of the show, you embody what the show is all about, what it has been about for all these seasons, and there’s no reason, in my opinion, and I’m sure John’s, why you definitely should not win this thing, man.”
Up until then, it seemed like the other coaches and even the host, Carson Daly was walking on eggshells around the talented crooner. Levine has had a somewhat controversial history on “The Voice.”
Last year, his exchange with DeAndre Nico and Reagan Strange left fans in utter shock and disappointment. The disapproving fans are even reportedly getting back at the veteran singer by not voting for any of his contestants. The hating sure comes through as his entire team was eliminated weeks before the grand finale!
With no one to mainly cheer on, he looked a bit forlorn as the Top 8 performances went on and that was why his passionate words of praise to 26-year-old Jarmon is one that left the audience and his fellow coaches amazed.
