Wendy Williams & Son Hold Hands After Arrest for Allegedly Punching Dad Kevin Hunter

A few days after her son’s arrest, Wendy Williams was spotted walking hand-in-hand with the young man, Kevin Hunter Jr., as she headed to an event on Thursday.

According to PEOPLE, Wendy stepped out in Washington D.C, chatting and smiling with Kevin Jr. as they ducked under an umbrella held by a bodyguard.

Although she’s yet to address her son’s arrest and assault charge, Wendy’s body language most likely conveys support for the 18-year-old.

Kevin Jr. was arrested and charged with simple assault on Tuesday after punching his father, Kevin Hunter, in the face at a store parking lot in New Jersey, TMZ reported.

THE FIGHT

According to the outlet, father and son got into an argument about Kevin Sr. and Wendy’s divorce. The argument soon degenerated into a fight, however, and Kevin Sr. put his son into a headlock. Kevin Jr. reportedly responded by punching his dad in the face.

A spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey provided more details about the incident, revealing that it took place at 9:50 pm on Tuesday in West Orange.

KEVIN SR.'S STATEMENT

Kevin Jr. was not taken to the county jail and was processed and released by the West Orange Police Department the same evening.

In a statement to TMZ, the TV producer who was recently fired as Wendy’s manager and her show executive producer, said:

“I love my son very much and I will not be pursuing this matter legally. Things are not always how they appear.”

THE DIVORCE

Wendy, 54, filed for divorce from Kevin Sr., 46, last month following reports that he fathered a child with his alleged longtime mistress, Sharina Hudson.

A source claimed that the “Wendy Williams Show” host confronted her husband of 21 years with the scandalous report before eventually going on with the divorce.

“Wendy had hired a private investigator and confronted him [about the love child],” the source disclosed. “He [Kevin Sr.] confessed to everything three weeks ago.”

AN APOLOGY

In his statement concerning the divorce, Kevin Sr. publicly apologized to Wendy for his "actions."

“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family, and her amazing fans,” he said. “I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.”

There are reports that Kevin Sr. is seeking spousal and child support from Wendy in the divorce, but the TV diva has been busy living her best life, hanging out with more with friends and her son, and just generally glowing.
