Melania Trump Looks Stately Standing Next to the Queen for the Royal Banquet at Buckingham Palace
Melania Trump, 48, looked radiant in an elegant sheer white gown to have a lavish state dinner with Queen Elizabeth II and other royal family members.
The United States and Great Britain strengthened their relationship once again during the extravagant dinner hosted by the Queen led to toasts and compliments, with President Donald Trump referring to her majesty as a “great, great woman.”
A stunning first lady presented herself to the Queen for an evening celebration in a majestic white gown, complimenting her great physique.
A FASHION-FORWARD FIRST LADY
Melania pulled off another simple yet elegant floor-length Dior couture gown which debuted at the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris in January as part of the Christian Dior’s spring 19 collection.
The former model paired her custom off-white with gloves in the same color and wore her hair in a neatly fixed updo, which managed to stay in place the whole evening.
Like the first lady, the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, opted for white gowns with sparkling tiaras, diamonds, and blue sashes for the formal dinner.
TRUMPS TOAST
The event was held in the Buckingham Palace ballroom on Monday evening with 170 dignitaries and guests. Trump thanked her majesty of her “gracious hospitality” and “nearly seven decades” of close ties with America.
He further praised the Queen, who manifests “the spirit of dignity, duty, and patriotism that beats proudly in every British heart.” Trump raised his glass to make a toast and said:
“On behalf of all Americans, I offer a toast to the eternal friendship of our people, the vitality of our nations and to the long cherished and truly remarkable reign of Her Majesty, the Queen.”
Likewise, Britain's monarch made a toast to the two great countries that formed an alliance which she hopes to continue for years. She said:
"Mr. President, as we look to the future, I am confident that our common values and shared interests will continue to unite us. Tonight we celebrate an alliance that has helped to ensure the safety and prosperity of both our peoples for decades, and which I believe will endure for many years to come."
A LAVISH BANQUET
The dinner menu was prepared by the Queen’s chef, who made it a point to prepare delicious dishes with fresh ingredients and produce. The guests were served lamb, halibut with watercress mousse, strawberry sable with lemon verbena cream, a variety of fresh fruits, and hot coffee and petit fours.
America’s first couple landed at Stansted Airport on June 3, riding the Air Force One, and were welcomed by the US Ambassador and Foreign Secretary.
Included in their three-day state visit are talks with Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday to discuss the blacklisting of Huawei in the US, among many others.
