Here's Why Jennifer Lopez Doesn't 'Really Count' Two of Her Three past Marriages
Jennifer Lopez is soon getting married to Alex Rodriguez, so it didn't hurt her to revisit her three previous marriages. In fact, she even explained why she "doesn't really count" two of them as legitimate marriages.
"It seems like in this life, you're always surrounded by people, you're never lonely, but it's very lonely. So you always want somebody with you. Somebody. And so, I felt like if I got married I felt like I would always have somebody, but that's not how life works."
Now that she's set to get married to Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez made sure to reflect on why her other marriages didn't work out. In a new promotional behind-the-scenes video for her upcoming tour, J. Lo opened up about her marriages to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony.
"I've been married three times. And once was nine months, and once was 11 months. So I don't really count those."
Marriage to Marc Anthony
J. Lo's first two marriages might have been less than a year long, but her most recent one, with Marc Anthony, lasted a decade. The two even share kids, their 11-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
"I was very young the first two times I tried to get married. I would say try to get married. It seems like in this life, you're always surrounded by people, you're never lonely, but it's very lonely. So you always want somebody with you. Somebody. And so, I felt like if I got married I felt like I would always have somebody, but that's not how life works. That's not how it goes. It’s a bad reason to get married, not the right reason, it’s the wrong one. The right one is when you find somebody who really makes you better."
Now that Jennifer has learned the ins and outs of marriage and what they ultimately mean, she is ready to spend the rest of her life with her one true love, Alex Rodriguez. The Hollywood power couple is made for each other, and they complement one another in every way.
A Lifetime Union
Looking forward to their wedding, Jennifer shares that they've decided to wait until next year, and in a church. J. Lo has never been married in a church before, so it's quite clear that her marriage to Alex is one that she's really thought about and is really looking forward to.
J. Lo and A. Rod are getting married after two years of bliss, something that the two of them have been looking forward to. While they've already been living life like a married couple by taking care of each other's children and living together, this just makes everything more official. With the way they're almost always seen side-by-side at events shows, dinner dates, and even simple errands days, it's hard to remember that they weren't engaged just yet.
Now that they're ready to take things to the next level officially, their fans are counting the days until 2020, the year J. Lo and A. Rod will finally become one.
