Anderson Cooper is still mourning the loss of his mother and media outlets have aired reports that his coping mechanism is his longtime friend, Andy Cohen's son, Benjamin Allen.

Last month June 17, the famous journalist lost his mother Gloria Vanderbilt to widely progressed cancer.

Although Vanderbilt was well past her prime at the time of her death, Cooper still found her demise jarring because they had enjoyed a very close relationship while she was alive. However, thanks to his close-knit friend, Andy Cohen, he is slowly coming to terms with the loss.

Page Six recently interviewed Cohen, a world-famous American talk show host, and it was there he revealed that his four-month-old son, Benjamin has been with Cooper. He further explained that the baby is the one way he could think of to help his friend get over his mother's tragic demise.

The 51-year-old told Page Six:

“I brought Ben over to Anderson’s last weekend. I was like you need to be with a baby right now because he was obviously very in a rough spot.”

Cohen and Cooper's relationship is not news anymore. The pair have a lot in common because they are regarded as an essential part of the American TV business and are also both openly gay. Although they have chosen to keep things platonic, the pair continue to keep the media and netizens in awe of their fantastic friendship.

Cohen's revelation during his Page Six interview only proved this correct as he showed that he could trust baby Ben with Cooper. Cohen's heartwarming plan hinged off his thoughts that if Cooper shared the same space with Ben, he would appreciate “new life."

The “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” host fondly said:

“I think sometimes — I just thought — it would be good for him to see kind of new life and that might energize him a little bit. And I think it did."

Benjamin Allen was conceived and birthed through surrogacy earlier this month in February. He has since been a bundle of joy for Cohen who is never tired of talking about him, which makes the fact that he can trust Ben with Cooper indeed beautiful.

While speaking to People recently, Cohen discussed the admiration he has always had for Cooper’s relationship with his now late mother. The television personality explicitly detailed how he had found the mother-son duo so adorable once when they made an appearance on his show.

Andy Cohen told People:

“When they were on my show, he held her hand for almost the whole show."

It is, therefore, no wonder that the handsome star chose to help Cooper come to grasp with Vanderbilt’s demise in any way he could.

May Vanderbilt’s beautiful soul rest in peace.
