See the Peachy-Pink Look That Meghan Markle's Mom Wore to Baby Archie's Christening
Doria Ragland stood out wearing a lovely peach dress in the official christening photo of her first grandson. The lone representative from Meghan's side of the family proved she looked every inch regal standing next to Prince Charles.
Now two months old, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is officially a Christian after he was baptized over the weekend surrounded by his famous parents, his close relatives, and godparents.
A FAMILY AFFAIR
A photo of the milestone occasion was shared on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s official Instagram and revealed a lovely mix of family who witnessed the newest royal’s christening.
Though Doria was outnumbered by Harry’s side of the family, she stood out wearing a lovely ensemble for the beautiful occasion.
Among those in the photo were Archie’s parents, Harry and Meghan, his grandfather, Prince Charles and wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles, his uncle, Prince William and wife, Duchess Kate Middleton, Princess Diana’s siblings, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, and the lone representative from his mother’s side, his grandmother, Doria Ragland. Archie's godparents who remain unnamed were not in the photo.
A REGAL STAND OUT
Though Doria was outnumbered by Harry’s side of the family, she stood out wearing a lovely ensemble for the beautiful occasion. Standing next to Prince Charles, the yoga instructor looked equally regal in her peach coat and dress with a matching hat and delicate brooch. It’s possible her daughter assisted her in selecting her wardrobe which was perfect for the celebration.
AN IMPORTANT CHRISTENING GOWN
Meanwhile, the day’s celebrant also drew attention wearing a beautiful replica of the traditional christening gown worn by all royal infants.
Archie’s christening marks the second time the baby graced his parents’ social media.
According to the caption accompanying the official photos of Archie’s christening, the original gown made of Hinton lace and white satin was commissioned by Queen Victoria way back in 1841 and was first worn by her eldest daughter. It became the official christening gown of all royal babies until 2004. After that, a handmade replica was made to preserve the original and assure the continuance of the tradition.
AN ADORABLE BABY
Archie’s christening marks the second time the baby graced his parents’ social media. The first time was on Father’s Day when a lovely photo of him holding Prince Harry’s finger was used to pay tribute to the proud dad. In the pic, part of his face was shielded by the intertwined hands of father and son but it already revealed his lack of hair and piercing eyes.
His full face was finally shared to the public following his baptism to reveal an adorable looking little boy. The second photo in black and white was shared along with the official family photo and it was taken outdoors. In the pic, Harry and Meghan reveal how much they adore their firstborn sleeping in between them. It was a precious pic to represent the important occasion in the young family’s life.
