Tanisha Foster wants what she deserves as the mother of Nipsey Hussle’s daughter, Emani Ashgedom. As such, she filed a new motion contesting Nipsey’s family’s efforts to shut her out of her 11-year-old’s life.

A MOTHER FIGHTING FOR HER RIGHT

In the heels of Nipsey’s death, his sister, Samantha Smith filed papers in court requesting for her appointment as the legal guardian of Emani. Tanisha, who claims Samantha illegally kept Emani from her since the rapper’s death in March, opposed the motion in court claiming she had every right to take care of her child as her surviving parent.

A FAMILY GAINING CONTROL OF HER DAUGHTER

The court ruled in favor of Samantha after learning Tanisha had an outstanding warrant for a DUI charge. Since then, the desperate mother has been fighting to gain back control of her daughter. To make matters worse last week, Nispey’s mother, Angelique Ashgedom and brother, Samuel Ashgedom filed for co-guardianship in support of Samantha.

A LIFE LEFT WITH NOTHING

In response to this, Foster filed a new petition in court accusing Nipsey’s family of cutting her off from her daughter and the life Nipsey established for her since his death. According to The Blast, she revealed in her court documents that she was kicked out of the apartment the late rapper rented for her and was left with nothing. She said she was forced to rely on “the goodwill of family and friends” to get by. She claims Nipsey provided for her needs when she was alive and even gave her substantial sums of cash” which she used in caring for their daughter.

"I have been maligned as being an unfit mother, a golddigger, and someone not worthy of any voice in the matter of my daughter and her future."

A PETITION FOR HER DAUGHTER'S BEST INTEREST

Foster also vehemently contested the family’s petition for guardianship.

"I strongly oppose both of the petitions filed by Samantha Alexandria Smith, Samiel Asghedom and Angelique Smith," she said. "I am the other of Emani Asghedom and there is no good reason my rights as her mother should be taken away from me, or otherwise reduced as her mother."

Foster also insists it is in Emani’s best interest to be with her and accuses the family of painting a bad picture of her in order to gain Emani’s custody.

"No one seems to care about the impact Ermias’ death has had upon me and Emani. I have been maligned as being an unfit mother, a golddigger, and someone not worthy of any voice in the matter of my daughter and her future."

“If everyone was truly interested in doing what is best for Emani, they would treat me as her mother and not in the manner that they have."

AN UNTIMELY DEATH THAT LEFT LOOSE ENDS

Nipsey’s death was unexpected. He died after he was shot several times outside of his clothing store. At the time, he had no will in place leaving room for people surrounding his daughter to decide what’s best for her. A court hearing is set for next week and hopefully, it will shed more light on what will ultimately be beneficial to Emani.
