Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Revealed Baby Archie's New Milestone to Beyoncé & Jay-Z
The London premiere of Disney’s “The Lion King” made possible the meeting between two of the most powerful couples in the world: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z. They exchanged kind words with each other, and Harry even shared a new milestone of his son Archie with the global superstars.
Two months after welcoming their first child, the duke and duchess of Sussex graced the red carpet of the premiere of Disney’s “The Lion King” on Sunday, July 14.
The royals got the chance to greet thousands of fans assembled at Leicester Square before heading inside the Odeon Theatre.
There, they met the cast and crew behind the live-action remake of the 1994 Disney classic.
Among them, where Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z, since the “Love on Top” singer voices Nala in the film.
THE ICONIC MEETING
The encounter between music and British royalty left fans in awe and wanting to know what was said in the encounter. Witnesses and videos of the moment have revealed snippets of the conversation, in which Beyoncé and Meghan hugged tightly and even held hands while amicably chatting.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have not been shy of showing their adoration for Markle. Earlier this year, the Carters shared an acceptance speech for their 2019 Brit Awards on Instagram alongside a tribute to Meghan.
According to reports, Beyoncé congratulated Meghan on the birth of her baby, and said Master Archie is “so beautiful.”
Prince Harry, who joined the conversation a bit later, started by asking Beyoncé and Jay-Z how are they doing, since they've been “very busy,” to which the singer replied, “no more busy than you guys.”
HARRY GUSHES ABOUT HIS SON
The conversation then switched back to Archie, as Harry proudly shared a new milestone of his son by mimicking the baby stretching up his neck. “He’s holding his neck up?” Beyoncé said.
The proud dad nodded and proceeded to imitate his own reaction to the baby’s new skill, excitedly clapping and cheering. He also said Archie is “not so little anymore,” confirming Beyoncé’s words as she previously told the couple that they had a “big-sized baby.”
Elsewhere in their exchange, Harry asked Beyoncé about her twins, Sir and Rumi, 2. “They are not here. They don’t come on every trip,” replied the mom of three. “We left them at home. They would've loved to have been here.”
Jay-Z also chimed in at some point to offer some advice to the new young parents, telling them:
“The best advice I can give you: always find some time for yourself.”
MUTUAL ADORATION
After the meeting, Beyoncé told the media of Harry and Meghan that “they’re so sweet.”
Both couples had a high expectation of meeting each other. According to royal insiders, Meghan and Harry were excited to finally meet Beyoncé, even breaking protocol by hugging them and being touchy-feely with the couple.
On the other hand, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have not been shy of showing their adoration for Markle.
Earlier this year, the Carters shared an acceptance speech for their 2019 Brit Awards on Instagram alongside a tribute to Meghan.
In the clip, they recreated a scene from the “Apes**t” music video, but instead of using the Mona Lisa, they stood in front of a royal portrait of Meghan donning a crown and several pearl necklaces.
“In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas,” Beyoncé and Jay-Z wrote at the time. “Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”
This was the first film premiere of Meghan Markle as a duchess, and one of many outings she’s made in the past month after welcoming Archie in May.
On Saturday, Meghan joined her sister-in-law Kate Middleton at the Singles Final at Wimbledon where her close friend Serena Williams lost the chance to win her 24th Grand Slam.
