Idris Elba's Daughter Isan Dons Black Mini Dress for 'Hobbs & Shaw' Premiere

Idris Elba’s daughter, Isan, made another rare public appearance this past weekend as she joined her father and step-mother Sabrina at the “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” movie premiere.

Idris plays a villain in the latest Fast 7 Furious installment, but he looked every inch a happy man on Saturday when he showed up at the famous Dolby Theatre with support from his two favorite ladies.

WHAT THEY WORE

The British actor looked dapper in a checked Tom Ford suit paired with a black shirt and matching lace-up shoes. His wife sizzled in a floor-length dress featuring glittery and sheer panels, finishing off the look with strappy silver sandals.

Isan, on the other hand, chose a black mini dress and matching bow-detailed sandals. The teenager wore her hair in the same style as her step-mom: parted down the middle.

ONE BIG FAMILY

Both Sabrina and Isan shared photos from the event on Instagram. In her caption, the 30-year-old Somali-born model wrote:

“Family first! Go watch Hobbs and Shaw, because I said so but also because it’s a kick ass movie. Thank you [Alberta Ferretti] for making me into a sexy disco ball and also making it really hard to go to the bathroom.”

ISAN IN HOLLYWOOD

Isan kept things simpler in her post, only Hashtagging the event, but Sabrina showed up in the comment section with a touching note. “Miss you already,” she confessed while adding a red heart emoji.

Isan, 17, lives with her mother, Hanne "Kim" Nørgaard, in Atlanta, Georgia and only gets to partake in Hollywood glamor once in a while. Idris, 46, and Kim were married from 1999 to 2003, and the actor also has a younger son with ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.

AN HONOR SHE DIDN'T SEE COMING

Despite Idris and Kim not being together, it appears the two are co-parenting successfully; they collaborated to submit their daughter’s name for consideration as 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador earlier this year.

Isan was eventually awarded the honor and told Variety that she had no idea what her parents had been up to. "My dad texted me, and I was like, did he text to the wrong number?” the young lady said. “But then Mom explained it all to me.”

AMBASSADOR FOR GOOD

Choosing to use her platform for a good cause, Isan donated the cash proceeds from her ambassadorship to the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, a non-profit created by actress Taraji P. Henson to tackle mental health in the African American community.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about her decision to shine the light on mental health, she explained:

“Teenagers can be cruel sometimes and they'll say, ‘You're just being dramatic.’ And in the African-American community, it is so taboo. We need to encourage young people to ask for help, and it doesn't have to be something you feel awkward about.”

Isan has also revealed that she’s considering a career in both acting and filmmaking, so even though her public appearances are rare at the moment, we’ll probably be seeing more of the famous daughter in the nearest future.
