Macy Gray Makes Bizarre Joke during Interview, Says She's a Vampire
Macy Gray says in a recent interview, "I'm a vampire...I just want to bite people" prompting viewers to question her state of mind. They suspect "something's wrong" with the singer who admitted drug use in the past.
Fans are convinced "something’s wrong" with Macy Gray after her recent bizarre interview. The singer confessed she’s a vampire with an urge to bite people.
THE LAST TIME GRAY PUZZLED VIEWERS
Gray has been baffling viewers about her state of mind in recent interviews. Back in November, she registered poorly to fans after witnessing her short answers during an interview on “Loose Women.” She appeared out of it with her voice issues and when she answered questions randomly. It was, as one viewer commented, “painful” to watch.
A follow up interview with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain addressed fans’ concerns that stemmed from her “Loose Women” appearance. When asked if she had a wild streak, Macy replied,
“I did a show the other day and everybody thought something was going on with me, but I was just doing my thing.”
ANOTHER BIZARRE INTERVIEW BAFFLES FANS
Granted that fans may have misread Gray during that interview, her more recent sit down seems to justify those comments. Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on her show, the 51-year-old made the bizarre admission that she was a blood-sucking vampire.
Her admission came after Kelly asked her about her recent stay in a hospital.
“I’m a vampire,” she explained. "I needed a blood transfusion... I just want to bite people! But that's illegal."
Gray was very candid to Oprah Winfrey in 2014 about using drugs in her past. She said it was the result of having a lot of money and the success that got to her head
But that’s not all, somewhere in the interview, Gray asked Kelly for directions to her next interview and even questioned the host why she had to be up so early for their sit down.
“Why do you guys go on so early?” she inquired. "You should shoot it at night and then tell people it's live, that's an idea. Why do it in the morning?"
Her erratic comments led to a string of tweets pleading to end their agony watching the interview.
“Gosh stop the interview there’s something wrong with her!” said @Carriew1612254.
“Car crash tv,” commented another who goes by the name @sarahtomey1.
Others questioned if Gray was on something and one twitter user suggested she “step away from the mini bar.”
“I used to be on medication, but I am not anymore, so if I was bipolar, I guess I am cured.”
SHE ADMITTED DRUG USE IN THE PAST
Gray was very candid to Oprah Winfrey in 2014 about using drugs in her past. She said it was the result of having a lot of money and the success that got to her head. She achieved stardom with her smash hit, “I Try” which earned her a Grammy Award. It was while she was on tour that she experimented with drugs and eventually got hooked.
At the time, Gray said she had cleaned up her act thanks to her grown-up children. It’s unclear if that phase lasted or if she slipped basing it on her latest interviews.
SHE WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER
Gray was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder before gaining success. She admitted this in a 2007 interview with UK’s Daily Mail.
“I used to be on medication, but I am not anymore, so if I was bipolar, I guess I am cured.”
Asked in 2010 about her illness, she likened it to being famous.
“It just has very extreme ups and downs. It’s one thing and then another, and they’re always opposite.”
SHE DATED A MAN SHE MET AT A GROCERY STORE
Gray released her tenth album, "Ruby" in September. While promoting her music earlier this year, the once-married singer with three children revealed she was happily single but once dated a man she met at a grocery store. She confessed feeling flattered when the man came up to her to get her phone number because nobody's done it before. That acquaintance didn't last long but the singer said they had fun.
