Wedding bells rang for Mo McRae and Lex Scott Davis who had an intimate ceremony to pronounce them husband and wife.
"BEST DAY OF MY LIFE"
Mo and Lex tied the knot on Sunday, July 21 after locking eyes on the set of 2018’s “The First Purge.” The “unplugged” affair was held on a garden in Fallbrook, California where friends and family were asked to switch off their mobile devices throughout the event.
Photos of the blushing bride in her Lorenzo Rossi wedding dress were featured on her Instagram. In her caption, she described her wedding as “the Best Day of My LIFE!” and thanked her bridesmaids who were also featured in a photo.
“I remember we woke up the next morning, and it felt like we lived a real fairy tale.”
'THAT WAS REALLY SPECIAL"
She also shared images from the couple’s matrimonial shoot. “The start of an extraordinary chapter. Thank you God for blessing me with him,” she wrote in one post. “The easiest decision I’ve ever had to make, was marrying this Man,” she declared in another.
Mo looked dashing in his custom white tuxedo by Stacy Branden to match his wife’s lace gown. His11-year-old daughter, Miami, walked him down the aisle.
When it came time to utter their wedding vows, the couple opted to recite their own. “That was really special,” Lex told Essence. She also took pride in finding time to marvel at their guests while at the altar, something many wedding couples often fail to do, she noted.
The pair were engaged in August 2018. It happened while they were on the way home from the beach. At sunset, Mo pulled over at a peak overlooking the water.
"WE GET GIGGLY WHEN WE SAY IT OUT LOUD"
The following morning, Lex said it still felt like she was dreaming.
“I remember we woke up the next morning, and it felt like we lived a real fairy tale,” she recalled.
And while she’s ingesting the idea of marriage, Lex admits she’s still trying to get used to saying husband and wife without laughing.
“It’s still exciting to even say 'husband and wife' out loud. We get giggly when we say it out loud,” the 28-year-old actress told People.
“In my heart, it was like a spiritual moment like, ‘she’s your wife,’... “At that moment, I knew."
"THE WORD "YES" NEVER FELT SO SWEET"
The pair were engaged in August 2018. It happened while they were on the way home from the beach. At sunset, Mo pulled over at a peak overlooking the water. He pretended they were making a motion video but in fact, he intended to record the proposal. "The word "Yes" never felt so sweet," Lex wrote to caption the clip she posted on her Instagram.
"I COULDN'T RUN FROM MY DESTINY"
Mo still vividly remembers the moment he realized Lex was meant to be his wife. They were in Baltimore so he could meet her parents when they fell into a nap. When he woke up he was just overcome by a feeling.
“In my heart, it was like a spiritual moment like, ‘she’s your wife,’” he recalled. “At that moment, I knew. I just couldn’t ignore it. I couldn’t run from my destiny.”
The couple has yet to leave for their honeymoon because Mo left for work soon after their wedding. They’re excited though to start their journey as husband and wife and produce a lot of children. Their reason – they don’t want to have quiet Christmases. Lex is an only child so she’s bent on having a big family.
Congratulations to the newlyweds and best wishes!
