Kathie Lee Gifford Paid an Emotional Tribute to Her Late Husband Frank 4 Years after His Death
Kathie Lee Gifford penned an emotional tribute on social media for her late husband, Frank Gifford, on the anniversary of his death. He died four years ago.
It’s been four years since Kathie Lee Gifford’s husband, Frank Gifford, died at the age of 84, but for the veteran TV host, the pain is still there, and the memory of the loss remains fresh.
On the anniversary of Frank’s death, Kathie Lee wrote an emotional tribute in his memory on Instagram. The write up accompanied a painting of the deceased in his football jersey and holding a ball in his hands. The painting was done by Anton Connolly Art.
Kathie Lee noted four years have gone by since “God took this beautiful, wonderful husband home.” She added that they — referring to herself and their children, Cassidy and Cody — miss him every day.
The retired daytime talk show host acknowledged that “They” will hold him again soon, and ended the tribute with the hashtag, “#HeSawJesus.”
The post got a lot of reactions from her followers, and her friend and former “Today” co-host, Hoda Kotb, wrote in support,
“Loving you today, and every day. XX.”
Cassidy equally shared a tribute to her father, writing,
“To have lost you means to have gotten you, and it was the best.”
Kathie Lee and Frank had each other for 29 years, and she once said that for her, it was love at first sight. Since the NFL star’s death, the “The Rock, The Road, The Rabbi” author has spoken out about the void his absence has created in her life, and how little things still remind her of him.
Kathie said early this year, after the former New York Giants player’s death, she avoided social gatherings because she didn’t want people to look at her with, “Widow eyes.” But the situation seems to have changed, following a sighting in July at a music festival in Tennessee.
According to news reports, Kathie Lee danced with a mystery man intimately and appeared super relaxed and in good spirits. Not only does retirement suit the award-winning TV host, but she is also slowly stepping back into the social scene, and getting some of her groove back.
Kathie Lee will always carry Frank’s memory with her, and if she forgets, the greatest gifts he gave her, Cassidy and Cody, will be there to remind her.
