Now 43-years old, the actress barely seems to have aged as she takes to Instagram to celebrate her son's 20th Birthday. Williams posted three meaningful photos on her page with two out of the three being throwbacks and the last, a recent photo.

The first throwback featured a younger Malinda, eyes closed, holding her son, Omikaye, with her lips gently pressed against his cheeks in a heartwarming motherly gesture.

The other throwback showed baby Omikaye on his back in white baby clothes while the final photo featured the proud mother and her son.

Malinda captioned the post with heartwarming words wishing her beloved son a happy birthday and thanking God for how far they've come.

"I'd always thought "bundle of joy" was cliche until 20yrs ago this very day. Happy Birthday...My one and Omi. I thank God for you and your wisdom of the ages and I "ThankGodforGod" #leoseason #happybirthday," she wrote.

The resemblance between mother and son could not be mistaken, and this was observed and stated by fans in the comments section:

Others joined Malinda in wishing her son a happy birthday.

Omikaye is the product of Malinda's relationship with ex-husband, Mekhi Phifer, who she married in 1999. The couple divorced later in 2003.

And though their marriage might have failed, the couple made sure that their parenting did not as they both jointly raised their son, who has grown into an emotionally healthy young adult.

The period after their divorce was a bit tumultuous as they both had different ideas about why their marriage did not work out.

According to Malinda, Mekhi was always unfaithful and reportedly cheated on her with several women while they were married.

However, Mekhi had a different spin on the story as he claimed that Malinda did not support his career and that made it hard for him to be in the same room with her.

Later on in 2014 at an interview Mekhi had with The Breakfast Club, he confessed to cheating, citing reasons why he did.

"We were technically married but you're going two or three days living in the house and you aren't even talking to, you talking about walking up and down the stairs past each other and you aren't even talking," he stated.

Malinda tried her hand at marriage again in 2008 when she married D-Nice however, like her previous marriage it didn't last, and they were divorced by 2010.

In 2019, love found Malinda again as she got engaged to Tariq Walker, a journalist who she has referred to as her soulmate.

"We are engaged and we couldn't be more happy about spending our lives together," Malinda announced in a statement. She added:

"To be honest from the moment we realized we were made for each other, we also recognized the impact we had on one another's desire to be better individuals, and inspired the best in each other.

Happy birthday Omikaye!
