Debbie Allen is popularly known for her role in “Fame,” and she has been to her husband, Norm Nixon, for 34 years. In an industry where divorces happen as quickly as marriages, they’ve learned to define love in their way.

To those who know the couple, and follow them on their social media accounts, it is clear that Allen and Nixon love each other, and value their relationship. They proved this when they went all out by having an all-white themed party for their 32nd anniversary a few years back.

The celebrity couple invited their friends and families to a yacht in Marina del Rey, and the dance queen and former NBA player danced in celebration of their love. Allen captioned one of the videos shared at the time,

“32 years of loving,” and attached heart-shaped emojis.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” star and the former Los Angeles Clippers player got married in 1980, after her divorce from first husband, Winnfred Wilford. Since their wedding, they’ve been inseparable, and share two children, Vivian Nicole, and Norman Ellard Nixon Jr.

In a past interview, Allen revealed the secret to their relationship. According to her, they’ve been able to make their relationship work by putting their family above everything else in their lives.

She added that despite her achievements, Nixon and her children are what she considers her most significant assets, and they bring her joy more than anything else.

The actress and Nixon’s family is equally well blended; the “SWAT” star accepts and treats her husband’s eldest son, DeVaughn Nixon, as one of her children, and they share a close bond.
