Meet Samuel Cusick, ‘DWTS’ Lindsay Arnold's Husband Who She Met at 16
Even though “Dancing with the Stars” pro Lindsay Arnold and her husband, Samuel Cusick, are only 25 years old, they have been married for four years already.
Lindsay, the professional Latin and ballroom dancer, competed on “So You Think You Can Dance” in 2012 when she was only 18 years old.
Despite not winning the competition, judges repeatedly praised her versatility, and she was chosen to perform on its 30-city tour.
Starting on “DWTS”
Only one year later, she joined the “DWTS” cast. At that point, she was the second youngest professional dancer in the show’s history only behind Julianne Hough, who was 18 when she joined.
Lindsay’s career on the show has been very successful. On Season 25, she danced next to singer and actor Jordan Fished and won the competition.
However, the aspect that attracted more attention to their victory was that she became the first person who finished fourth, third, second, and first place in four seasons in a row.
Her participations following her victory were not as positive as her previous ones, though. Both times, she ended in 7th place (Season 26 next to NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Season 27 next to former NFL player DeMarcus Ware).
Samuel Cusick and Lindsay Arnold’s romance
Lindsay and Samuel’s relationship is one of a kind as they are high-school sweethearts. They met each other when they were 16 years old. According to the dancer, she would have never imagined she would meet the man she would marry at 16 years of age.
Samuel popped the question while he and Lindsay were in Africa on vacations. Although the details of the proposal have not been revealed, the professional dancer announced it on Instagram.
“Just when I thought our day in Africa couldn’t get any better…. We are engaged!!” Lindsay wrote in the caption of the photo that showed her and Samuel smiling at the camera in the cutest way possible.
The couple’s ceremony took place at the Salt Lake City Temple in Utah in June 2015. Her bridesmaids were “DWTS” members Emma Slater, Witney Carson, Jenna Johnson, and Brittany Cherry.
Their wedding
During the wedding, Lindsay wore a beautiful, sleeveless, lace dress designed by Moonlight Bridal while Samuel opted for a navy suit with a patterned tie and brown shoes.
One of the most beautiful aspects of the engagement was that wedding planner Danielle Rothweiler set up a table with a few photos of the couple and a sort of diary where guests could write their wedding wishes.
At the moment, the couple seem to have a very good relationship as they frequently share photos of each other on social media with loving captions.
Meet Samuel Cusick
Samuel, born in 1994, studied Business Administration at the Utah Valley University, as well as Analytics at the Arizona State University.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he worked as a VIP Rep for the “Dancing with the Stars” Live Tour for nearly a year. At the moment, he is the project manager at CMC Rock.
Apart from that, he created an online platform called FlyNyx, wherein he sells independent brands. Samuel is also a very religious person as he served as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Russia in 2013.
At the moment, Lindsay is focused on the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars," which is set to premiere on September 16. In it, Lindsay will dance next to former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
While several people cannot wait for the show to start, some others, like pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev, is one of them. Much to his surprise, he was cut from this season even though he had been a member of the cast for 10 years.
