‘DWTS’ Fans Wish Christie Brinkley Fast Recovery after She Quits the Show Due to Injuries
Former model Christie Brinkley recently quit "DWTS" after suffering serious injuries to her arm during a practice session before the premiere night. After the show announced the sad news, Brinkley's fans showered her with love, wishing her a speedy recovery.
The 28th season of "Dancing with the Stars" kicked off on September 16, but one of the show's promising contestants could not be a part of it after suffering serious injuries during practice.
Supermodel Christie Brinkley missed the opportunity to show off her moves in the "DWTS" ballroom after her arm got injured during a practice session a day ahead of the premier.
BRINKLEY'S DAUGHTER FILLED HER SHOES
Meanwhile, Brinkley's daughter, Sailor, stepped in to fill her mother's shoes during the contest. The 21-year-old worked hard to learn her mother's entire routine within a few hours.
"Showbiz is all about getting a break, and Sailor and I both got one on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season," Brinkley joked in a statement. "Sailor joined the cast when I got mine … ouch somebody stop me, it hurts to laugh!"
In an interview with PEOPLE, Sailor said that she was "terrified" at first when she prepared to join the show.
“I didn’t want to at first, honestly. I was terrified. It was a very scary thing for me. The whole idea of having to be live on stage, be on TV dancing, that’s something I’ve never done before," she said.
In the end, she was able to deliver an incredible performance despite having a little time to master all the moves.

Brinkley's fans were looking forward to seeing her set the "DWTS" stage on fire with her performance, but they ended up being disappointed after the mishap.
Nonetheless, the fans hope that the model makes a speedy recovery to they can see her dance again in the future.

Sailor is the youngest daughter of Brinkley. An aspiring model, she posed alongside her mother and her elder sister, Alexa Ray Joel, in the pages of Sports Illustrated magazine.
