KUWTK: Kourtney Kardashian Pokes Fun at Sister Kim's Blue Latex Met Gala Afterparty Dress
Kim Kardashian West was not too pleased with her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, apparently dissing her Thierry Mugler mini dress in front of the team who designed it.
In anticipation of the Met Gala's 2019 Afterparty, the KKW beauty mogul worked in close partnership with a team from Thierry Mugler to prepare the best look for the said theme; "Camp: Notes on Fashion."
In doing so, the designer brand came up with a turquoise latex mini dress, finished with a plunging neckline, and embezzled with countless silver crystals; a design beyond ordinary imagination.
Proud of the said masterpiece, Kardashian-West decided to share the achievement with her elder sibling via FaceTime call, as featured in a Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode.
"I was thinking of wearing this to your 40th birthday party. What do you think?" she asked.
Being very honest with her feelings, Kourtney did not hold back, admittedly pointing out that her younger sister would look like Nicki Minaj on Halloween night. Her feedback came from an honest point of view, which was what the reality star wanted.
Feeling ultimately insulted by the exchange, Kardashian-West took it to the confessional interview to express her embarrassment over the Mugler team witnessing the actual phone call with her sister's criticism.
The Mugler team manager, Jean-Baptiste Rougeot, let Kardashian-West know of on-going attempts of Kourtney's manager to get their dresses. The irony of Kourtney's reaction to the Mugler-designed dress raises questions, leaving Kim more angered with her sister's rudeness.
In the same episode, Kardashian-West further expressed the toughness of maintaining close relationships with designer brands, given that she borrows dresses. She highlights that it is something her sister, Kourtney, does not fully understand.
Kim is someone to make a grand entrance, as seen by her choices when interpreting each year's Met Gala theme. In fact, in 2018's Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination theme, the mother-of-three came in a Versace gown.
The stunning outfit was sewn with Crucifixes on the skin-tight golden material. With her bold choices, it begs everyone to ask; what's next for the reality star in next year's big event?
