Rapper Ice-T's Wife Coco Mom-Shamed for Still Breastfeeding Daughter Chanel Who's Nearly 4
Ice-T’s wife Coco Austin came under fire after sharing photos of herself breastfeeding their daughter Chanel Nicole, who turns four in November.
Coco's choice to continue breastfeeding her daughter has been drawing raised eyebrows online for some time now, but the model doesn’t seem to be bothered.
The latest episode started after Coco shared several pics of herself breastfeeding Chanel on a private plane.

Reflecting on the beauty of breastfeeding, Coco called it "a mother's calling" and considered herself blessed to experience it.
COCO & MOTHERHOOD
The "Ice Loves Coco" alum also took a trip down memory lane, recalling how she almost didn’t get to nurse her daughter:
"I had a hard time breastfeeding the 1st week of when Chanel was born, I almost gave up but my family told me to hang for another week. They told me I don’t want to miss this special moment you have with your child health wise and bond wise. I hung in there and now almost 4 years later Chanel still wants the boob."
Coco added that breastfeeding is now "more of a comfort thing" for Chanel who she says eats regular food, and directed fans to read more of her thoughts on her baby blog.
While Coco probably meant the post to highlight the emotional benefits of breastfeeding, many social media users were more concerned with the fact that the model still nurses her daughter.

SOCIAL MEDIA BACKLASH
"She is too big. I think it’s time to take her off now," one critic said while another described Coco breastfeeding Chanel as "gross."
"I don’t believe that’s ok at this time. It’s time to stop," chimed in a third and a fourth user said it was "disturbing."

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES
Despite the backlash, Coco will likely not stop breastfeeding Chanel until the little girl says so. Ice-T’s wife seems to have become quite accustomed to internet users sharing strong opinions about her parenting choices.
Last year, before Chanel turned 3, Coco was slammed after penning a note about nursing alongside a photo of the tot resting her head on Coco's cleavage. In March 2017, she also revealed that she was still breastfeeding at 15 months.
ICE-T SPEAKS UP
Towards the end of last year, Ice-T came to his wife’s defense, explaining that breastmilk stopped being Chanel’s primary food source since she was 18 months old.
"Coco absolutely breastfeeds because she just wanted that mama connection with the baby, and now Chanel doesn’t breastfeed, but she wants the boob sometimes. It’s a moment where it’ll calm you down. But when people say, 'Oh, Coco’s still breastfeeding.' It’s not that. Chanel’s drinking everything in the refrigerator right now."
Meanwhile, NY Daily News recently quoted a renowned pediatrician as saying there is no set time to stop breastfeeding and that babies are commonly breastfed for two or three years in most cultures worldwide.
