Despite being an amazingly successful model in her own right, beautiful Sailor didn't grow up with confidence, even with her mother's celebrity status.

The new star of the 28th season of "Dancing with the Stars," while talking to US Weekly said,

"I grew up very insecure."

Sailor further continued that she grew up unsure of herself in a lot of ways and she took to modeling, which is something that is tasking for one who is not quite confident. However, she found it awesome and ended up embracing it.

Sailor joined the "DWTS" cast, replacing her mother after the latter suffered some injuries during rehearsals. While dancing with Val Chmerkovskiy, Sailor acknowledged Christie broke her into the movie industry, but she had to scale through the challenges on her own.

She likened her mother's help into Hollywood to a situation where someone helps another to open a door, but it takes the will of the recipient to keep it that way.

Cook continued that her mother's influence didn't matter, but attending rehearsals daily and the ability to work with her body to the bone has helped her feel more confident, she said:

“And it also makes me feel a lot better about myself because I feel like a machine."

REPLACING CHRISTIE CAME WITH ITS FEARS TOO

After an impressive performance with her partner, Chmerkovskiy, the judges were stunned because the duo had rehearsed for only three days, taking home an 18/30 for their foxtrot to "Uptown Girl."

Sailor revealed to PEOPLE that she was initially reluctant to take to the dance floor. “I didn’t want to at first, honestly,” the 21-year-old model admitted.

“I was terrified. It was a very scary thing for me. The whole idea of having to be live on stage, be on TV dancing, that’s something I’ve never done before," she admitted.

A little motivation from Christie certainly aided the new "DWTS" star; “[My mom] told me to have fun with it and to not let fear stop me from doing any of it,” Brinkley-Cook said.

GROWING UP FEELING INSECURE DOESN'T BLIND THE MOTHERLY LOVE FOR HER MOTHER

After Christie was announced to be off the "DWTS" set, Brinkley-Cook joked about an ongoing rumor by Wendy Williams during her daytime show last week, with Wending saying Christie faked the injuries to evade the new season of the "DWTS" series. While talking to PEOPLE, Sailor expressed her shock over Wendy's false accusations;

“I’m totally shocked, because I have been there for Wendy Williams. That is so weird,” she said, crying.

“I have to give her a call … I’m really stunned", she added.

With or without appearing on the "DWTS," Sailor was a model for sports illustrated from 2017-2018. Her successful modeling career also helped her to model for magazines like Stellar Mag, and other brands like CAMILLA and 1.State.

The model is in a happy relationship with Benjamin Sosne, an artist; both Sosne and Brinkley-Cook are often seen on social media posting photos.

The model and actress is the youngest child among Christie's children; her other siblings are Alexa, 33, and 24-year-old Jack.
