Diahann Carroll's Daughter Thanks Tyler Perry & Says Kerry Washington Reminds Her of Mom
Some legendary actors actively awaken black consciousness in the world, and Diahann Carroll was one of them. The world lost a true diva on the 4th of October, 2019.

Carroll died after a long battle against cancer at the age of 84, as noted by Essence. The famous actress was renowned for her iconic role as Julia Baker in NBC series in which she won a Golden Globe Award.
Also, she has been nominated for one Oscar and four Emmy Awards.
Carroll is survived by her only child, Suzanne Kay, who was born in 1960 from her first union to Monte Kay, according to reports by Inquisitr.
Suzanne's career is almost as remarkable as her mother's, as she settled well in the entertainment industry.
Celebrities like Kerry Washington and Tyler Perry, who knew her late mother sent their condolences to Suzanne, 59.
Kerry thanked the deceased actress for her influence in her life, according to her caption on Instagram.
Filmmaker mogul, Tyler Perry, honored Carroll by letting the late icon's name live on in Tyler Perry Studios, as seen on Instagram.
In response, Suzanne thanked the stars in two Instagram posts. In her first post which she dedicated to Kerry, the sentimental caption read:
"@kerrywashington reminds me of mom! Not just her talent and sense of fashion, but her commitment to speak truth. ❤️❤️❤️??"
Kerry and Carroll stood side by side, holding hands and smiling in the photo uploaded by Suzanne.
She thanked Perry for the "beautiful things" he stated about the late Carroll, as disclosed on Instagram.
The movie director has paid homage to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington, and Will Smith in his Tyler Perry Studios. He included Diahann Carroll in the soundstage 5 of his Atlanta studios, 11 Alive
