Get to know Nick Clooney, who looked just like his acclaimed son George Clooney back in the day.
Nick is an actor and writer, known for "The Monuments Men" (2014) and "Rebound: A Basketball Story" (2009).
"By golly, when we met Amal, we got that figured out in a hurry. Just as I, George married up."
He was born in January 1935 in Maysville, Kentucky, USA, as Nicholas Joseph Clooney. His father was of Irish and German descent and his mother had Irish and English ancestry.
Since 1959, Nick has been married to Nina Clooney. The couple shares two children — George and Adelia "Ada" Clooney Zeidler.
While still living in his home state of Kentucky, Nick anchored evening news in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked as an air personality on Lexington, Kentucky station WKYT, at the time of George's birth.
In 1974, he gained national fame as the host of the daytime game show "The Money Maze."
For five years, he was the on-air host for AMC (American Movie Classics.
George and his wife Amal Clooney welcomed twins Alexander and Ella on June 6, 2017. The couple immediately introduced the twins to Nick and his wife Nina via Skype.
In a phone interview with FOX19 NOW's Tricia Macke, Nick said that Amal and the twins are doing great.
"She was telling us last week that she is as big as a house," said Nick. "Of course, for her, that's a very small house. But she's great."
Before George tied the knot with Amal in September 2014, at Ca' Farsetti, Nick and Nina weren't sure their son would ever settle down.
Nick said, "By golly, when we met Amal, we got that figured out in a hurry. Just as I, George married up."
"George, well, his eyes were glazed so I'm not sure that he was sober. We'll figure that out," he added.
Alexander and Ella have dark hair and already bear a strong resemblance to their famous father.
Nick has two other grandchildren — Allison Zeidler and Nicholas (Nick) Zeidler — from his daughter Adelia's marriage with Norman Zeidler.
