While the Christmas Con might be the highlight of the initiative, it isn’t the only event to occur. “Christmas Comes Early to David City, Nebraska, is another hometown Christmas event.

The town-square event, which will take place on October 30, will honor the birthplace of the founder of Hallmark Cards, Joyce C. Hall.

Also, Crown Media’s Hallmark Drama will travel to the tornado-ravaged town in Alabama, Beauregard. They will be part of a team that will help build 15 homes for those affected by the storm.

Speaking about the insightful initiative, the CEO and President of Crown Media Family Networks, Bill Abbott said:

“Our goal is to highlight cities and towns that reflect the true meaning of the holiday spirit and show the goodness in our country and our communities that is sometimes overlooked.”

As a result of the similar theme in Hallmark movies and their integration into the holiday season, fans have created a drinking game, PEOPLE reveals.

The season of Christmas is fast approaching; when it comes to all things holidays, Hallmark Channel is surely the ultimate!
