Alicia Keys Posts Emotional Message on Son Egypt's Birthday and Celebrates with Family on a Yacht
Alicia Keys' message for her 9-year-old was like lyrics to a song as she thanked him for teaching her a list of things. Meanwhile, Swizz Beatz shared images and clips from their son's birthday celebration on a yacht.
Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz’s talented son Egypt had a special 9th birthday. Not only did his parents hold a celebration on a yacht, they each prepared heartwarming tributes for their eldest son.

Swizz documented highlights of Egypt’s floating celebration. He shared a photo of the yacht their family chartered which friends and family boarded for a birthday sail.
A clip of Egypt dancing with his younger brother, Genesis revealed the preparations for the celebration that included balloons and other party décor.
“Thank you for teaching me how to be...More myself so you can be more of who you are meant to be”
HIS FATHER'S SERIES OF BIRTHDAY POSTS
To honor his son, Swizz posted a series of greetings. In one, he shared a clip of his musically-inclined son making music and wrote, “Happy 9th birthday to my lil big guy EGYPT.”
Egypt’s musical genius at such a young age was first confirmed when he collaborated on a song with Kendrick Lamar at five years old.
A follow-up post encouraged Egypt to “Keep dreaming Big” as Swizz shared a photo of the young boy looking out the window of an airplane.
"I hope you never stop being everything you are and becoming more of who you are meant to be”
His third and final birthday greeting came with a clip of Egypt in shades and showing off his dance moves. “Keep that same energy King. Happy 9yrs of amazing fun times,” he captioned.
HIS MOTHER'S SWEET MESSAGE
In contrast to Swizz’s greetings, Alicia’s single tributary post was an emotional one. The songwriter that she is, her message seemed like lyrics to a song. “My beautiful boy!” she began before thanking Egypt for teaching her a list of things she enumerates.
“Thank you for teaching me how to be
More imaginative
More tender
More understanding
Less opinionated
More open
More gentle
More considerate
Less in a rush
More contemplative
More aware
More intelligent
To help teach you truth
More fun
More silly
More clear
More awake
More myself so you can be more of who you are meant to be”
To end her message, Alicia writes,
“I’m so proud of you! I hope you never stop being everything you are and becoming more of who you are meant to be”
“I’m honored to be yoursHappy birthdayForever more”
A SON HIS PARENTS ARE PROUD OF
The sweet tribute is a pleasant reminder of the bond mother and son shared during the iHeartRadio Music Awards in March. Egypt joined his mother in a performance on stage. Both played on separate pianos, a moment Alicia admitted she’d “been dreaming of.”
Egypt’s musical genius at such a young age was first confirmed when he collaborated on a song with Kendrick Lamar at five years old. The young boy was responsible for creating the beat used in a track in the rapper’s 2016 compilation project, “Untitled Unmastered.”
“He produced it, wrote it, and Kendrick actually used it,” Swizz proudly shared to MSNBC while expressing his jealousy over his son landing a project with Kendrick before him. Swizz also shared that Kendrick was amused with Egypt because he reminded him of his younger self.
