Alicia Keys' Son Egypt, 8, Steals the Show as Mom Invites Him on Stage to Perform Her Latest Tune
Alicia Keys was upstaged by her young sons at the iHeartRadio Awards in Los Angeles.
The 2019 iHeartRadio Awards was quite a revelation for Alicia Keys fans.
After wowing the audiences at the Grammys, Keys was completely upstaged in Los Angeles by her sons: Egypt on stage, and Genesis in the audience.
"Sometimes it’s crazy, I know how it feels. All we can think about is how to be liked and how to be accepted. Instead, all we have to do is love who we are, appreciate our individuality and embrace what makes us unique."

Key's standing as a mom outshone her status as one of the world's most beloved artists at the iHeartRadio Awards, where she was the recipient of the Innovator Award.
The 38-year-old singer, who signed her first contract with Columbia at 15, was accompanied by her husband Swizz Beatz, and her sons Egypt, 8, and Genesis, 4.

When she took to the stage to perform, Keys brought her son Egypt up from the audience to play the piano.
The 8-year-old showed that he takes after his mother, and displayed an amazing aplomb as she sang her hit, "Raise A Man."

While Keys was giving her acceptance speech for her Innovator Award, her youngest son, Genesis, was busy making eyes at pop superstar Taylor Swift who was seated next to him.

Taylor was smiling at Genesis and waving back, and Keys noticed, exclaiming:
"Actually, my son Genesis is maybe trying to take Taylor out later tonight. He’s working on it. Not sure how it’s gonna go but it looks pretty good right now!"
It looks like Alicia Keys will have her hands full raising her two little men: a budding superstar, and a charming Casanova.

Fans of Alicia Keys were not surprised by her son Egypt's proficiency as a pianist. They had already seen posts the singer had shared of the young boy accompanying her on the piano.
The proud mother-of-two shared a clip on Instagram of her son playing "Lean On Me" while she sang along.
Keys also started playing at a young age and was composing songs at 12, signing her first recording contract at 15. Egypt may soon be following in his famous mom's footsteps.
