Gabrielle Union of 'LA's Finest' & Daughter Kaavia Stun in Matching 'Bring It On'-Inspired Outfits in New Photos
Halloween came early for Gabrielle Union and Kaavia James Union Wade. The mother-daughter duo did not disappoint as they paid tribute to an iconic film in matching "Bring It On" costumes.
Union took to Instagram on Sunday with a series of photos and videos that show her and Kaavia modeling the famous cheerleading costume from her 2000 cult classic "Bring It On."

While the actress looked like she hasn’t aged a day in her green "Clovers" outfit, Kaavia commanded the most attention in her similar pint-sized fit. Both mother and daughter rocked gold bows and white sneakers to complete the perfect cheerleader ensemble.
For her first Mother’s Day this year, the actress shared a picture of her reaction to seeing Kaavia for the first time
"Brought It," Union captioned a slide of photos and added the hashtag "California Love."
In another post, the actress shared a video compilation made up of one scene from "Bring It On" and a hilarious clip of herself and Kaavia attempting to recreate it.
"Ice Ice Ice," she wrote, referencing the cheerleading routine. "Its COLD asf."
As Entertainment Weekly noted, "Bring It On" also starred Kirsten Dunst. Her character becomes captain of her school’s cheerleading squad only to discover that their past successes came from the former captain stealing routines from the rival Clovers squad led by Union’s character, Isis.
Per the outlet, Dunst recently revealed that the movie was made on a minimal budget, and producers had no idea it would become the fan-favorite that has since spun five sequels.
This will not be the first time Union’s daughter is paying tribute to the teen movie. Last month, the 11-month-old tot sported the cheerleading costume in honor of her first trip to Union’s hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
The "Think Like A Man" actress, who is a first-time mom, has also been very particular about Kaavia’s outfits, as can be seen from the little one’s photos. Back in May, Union even added a baby collection to her New York & Company clothing line in honor of Kaavia.
Union and her husband, retired NBA player Dwyane Wade, 37, welcomed their daughter last November via surrogacy. Wade is also a father to three sons from previous relationships.
The couple has been open about Union’s miscarriages and fertility struggles. For her first Mother’s Day this year, the actress shared a picture of her reaction to seeing Kaavia for the first time.
Union shared a photo from the delivery room after their gestational carrier birthed Kaavia. The look on the "Breaking In" star’s face as a gloved hand held up their daughter was that of pure joy.
"This moment reminded me that miracles do happen," Union partly gushed in a lengthy caption. "You can’t age out of joy. You are worthy. You are worthy. You are worthy."
