Carrie Ann Inaba Shared Her Feelings about DWTS Week 8 Voting Results That Led to Kate Flannery Being Eliminated
"Dancing With the Stars" is getting more flack after this week's elimination round. This time, even the judges are expressing their frustration.
Eight couples competed in the Dance-Off this week which featured an individual dance followed by a shared battle where the dancers performed in the same style across the floor.
Again, Sean Spicer was deemed safe to move on. Spicer's continued presence has been a controversial matter among fans for weeks now. When the bottom two remained, the judges were left flustered. The video is found below.
The judges unanimously agreed that there was a voting issue
Kate Flannery and Ally Brooke stood alongside their professional dance partners awaiting the decision from judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba.
Ann Inaba had the first say in judging — and she's quite frankly jolted by what's going on. "It's confusing for me, at this point, why these are the bottom two," she began.
She added:
"Absolutely confused and a little irritated. But I have to do my job and I have to choose one of you."
The dancer and choreographer praised both couples for their "amazing" performances. She also gave a special shout out to Flannery for representing over 50-year-old's "like a tiger!"
Ultimately, though, she chose Brooke and her partner Sasha Farber to move on. The pair were first to attain a perfect score that night and the crowd seemed to agree with the decisions.
This isn't the first time the judges and fans have been so annoyed
Tonioli was next up. He agreed with his co-judge and told the dancers "you shouldn't be here" before also choosing Brooker and Farber to move forward.
Goodman revealed that he would have made the same choice if he were to vote. Last week a similar situation came up when Spicer remained in the running despite getting the score of all.
Flannery and Pasha were once again in the bottom two along with Karamo Brown and his partner. This time, the judges were split. Ann Inaba voted for Brown while Tonioli went with Flannery.
Goodman gave the decisive vote to Flannery, sending Karamo on his way. The week before, it was Sailor Brinkley-Cook who got booted off and again, fans expressed their dissent online.
Christie Brinkley shared a positive message after her daughter's disappointed
In addition, Brinkley's mother Christie Brinkley also spoke out. Her daughter had actually come in as her replacement on the show after she broke her arm during a rehearsal.
Christie took to Instagram to share a series of photos showing Brinkley as a young dancer. She added a lengthy caption thanking her daughter and DWTS partner for their work.
She added: "You don't need to be on a tv show to keep smiling and dancing… and that's the ultimate prize!" Her words were appropriate following Brinkley's reaction to the elimination.
She couldn't hold back tears when the votes came in. At just 21 and with such a late start, she did an exceptional job on the show — as did Flannery. We hope soon enough the show's voting is fixed so fans get more sensible results.
