Peter Scanavino of 'Law and Order: SVU' Is a Doting Husband and Father

When not busy shooting scenes for “Law and Order: SVU,” Peter Scanavino spends quality time with his wife and their two children.

The actor and his wife Lisha Bai welcomed their second child in January 2016, as reported by Heavy.

“It’s something I’m familiar with, but at the same time it’s extremely new and exciting for me.”

Their second child is named Leo. They have not publicly revealed the name of their first child.

Scanavino had proudly introduced their second child to the world shortly after his birth, as reported by Daily Mail.

PROUD FATHER

On social media, the SVU star showed a photo of his newborn son wrapped in a white, blue-and-red striped blanket with a matching beanie.

Scanavino received global recognition playing Detective and later Assistant District Attorney Dominick “Sonny” Carisi Jr. on the popular NBC series. He made his debut on the show in its 2014 episode, “Girls Disappeared.”

He also appeared in other shows including Chicago P.D. and The Blacklist. The actor transitioned from being a cop to a lawyer on “Law and Order: SVU.”

“I’m playing the same character, but with a whole new set of circumstances,” he said. “It’s something I’m familiar with, but at the same time it’s extremely new and exciting for me.”

EQUALLY TALENTED WIFE

The actor’s wife is just as talented. She earned her bachelor’s in fine arts in Painting at Washington University in St. Louis. She later earned her MFA in Painting/Printmaking at Yale University.

She has received several grants, including the Terra Summer Residency Fellow in Giverny, France in 2004. She has also been a visiting fine arts instructor at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn since 2008 and an instructor on art and design there since 2005.

Adding to her list of accomplishments is a list of exhibitions. She had her first exhibition in 2002 at Yale while taking her MFA there.

More recently, she had an exhibition titled “Dense Mesh” at Carroll/Fletcher in London, and the exhibition, “Painting in Trees” at The People’s Garden in Brooklyn.

Another crime show actor who is a doting father off camera is “Criminal Minds” star Thomas Gibson.

The actor shares three children with his former wife Christine – sons James Parker and Travis Carter; and daughter Agatha Marie. There was a time his children visited him on the set of “Criminal Minds.”
