John Legend received blessings from the former reigning king of sexy Idris Elba, who also poked fun at the big man Dwayne Johnson.
At 40 years old, John Legend had the title of People's Sexiest Man Alive bestowed upon him on Tuesday. The husband and father of one was "perplexed" by the news.
However, 47-year-old Iris Elba did not seem surprised. He congratulated the R&B singer while joking around with a mutual friend of theirs. His post is found below.

Elba, who was dubbed the title last year, took to Twitter soon after Legend responded to the announcement himself. Always humble, Legend used a very old photo of himself in a side by side with Elba.
"1995 John would be very perplexed to be following 2018 @IdrisElba as #SexiestManAlive. Hell, 2019 John is about as equally perplexed but thank you @People for finding me sexy. I'll take it."
In the shot, Legend was noticeably younger and wore a pair of circular-rimmed glasses. Next to him, Elba wore his signature bearded look and looked seductively into the camera with his upper chest exposed.
The stark difference did not dampen the actor's praises, however. He retweeted the post from Legend and said:
"My G Congratulations brother !!! You deserve it. DO NOT TELL @TheRock He still thinks he’s got the title, I didn’t have the heart to tell him when I took it."
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has in turn also gave his input on Legend's win in his own Twitter post. He congratulated Legend and welcomed him to the club, telling him he earned it.
He also threw a friendly jab at Elba:
"And unlike @idriselba who paid @people 50% of his future earnings for his sexy title. The three of us will raise a tequila glass soon. Congrats again you sexy SOB."
Earlier this year, Elba suggested to People that he should receive the title this year. He told the magazine: "Let it be the first time in history that the Sexiest Man Alive is the same man two years in a row."
The "Hobbs & Shaw" star was the successor to Blake Shelton in 2017. Shelton, who works alongside Legend as a judge on "The Voice," felt it his duty to pass on the torch after the latest episode last night.
Legend's wife Chrissy Teigan also shared the news via Instagram. The couple's kids, however, were not as excited. Unsurprisingly, being a father comes before being sexy — but Legend does both exceptionally well.
