Lil Nas X took home a Country Music Association Award last Wednesday, as he and Billy Ray Cyrus took home the "Musical Event of the Year" trophy for their remix of "Old Town Road," which sat on the number 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100 for 20 weeks straight.

It's been a great year for Lil Nas X, who broke records left and right all because of his hit song "Old Town Road."

A Great Year for Lil Nas X

It's been a great year for Lil Nas X, who broke records left and right all because of his hit song "Old Town Road."

However, it seems it got a bit overwhelming for the rapper, who chose to cancel some concerts to take a break from it all.

Taking A Step Back

Nas announced that he'd be canceling his two scheduled appearances at the Sandbox Music Festival in Arizona and at the TwitchCon 2019 in San Diego California to take a step back. He announced the news on Twitter, saying:

“It’s been a wild last 7 months and im ready to take a little time off. Sorry to everyone attending twitchcon or the sandbox music festival, i will not be there. i love u guys and will make it up to you some way.”

Ultimately, taking some time off not only allowed Lil Nas X to recover from the crazy couple of months he's had, and take a step back to reflect on life and all that he wants to happen in the future.
