The singer-songwriter performed the nostalgic tune at the CMA Awards on November 13, 2009, as shown in the video posted by 9Gem on Twitter.
According to Country Music Family, during his spectacular performance, a lot of people in the audience held up their mobile phone flashlights, making a twinkle all through the arena.
Some fans ended up teary-eyed as they watched Rhett sang the emotional song.
Before the show, the acclaimed musician walked the red carpet alongside his pregnant wife, Lauren Akins and their two children, daughters Willa Gray and Ada James, as reported by Billboard.
The day preceding the CMA Awards, Rhett took to YouTube to share a new video for "Remember You Young," which highlights home videos of his girls.
"Remember You Young" is a track from his newest album "Center Point Road."

As reported by the Boot, in a press release, Rhett said about the song:
"We wrote this song about the people in life that we love, and always remembering them in their youth, no matter how much time passes and we all change."
He added, "There’s something sentimental about remembering your very best friends who have real jobs and families now tearing it up in college, or picturing me and my wife with no cares at the Tin Roof back in Knoxville."
Rhett is nominated for the 2019 CMA Awards Male Vocalist of the Year trophy this year. "Center Point Road" also received a nod for Album of the Year.
Rhett has known Akins since second grade. The couple tied the knot in October 2012. In May 2017, they announced that they were expecting a child together, and adopting Willa Gray, a baby girl from Uganda.
Three months later, Rhett and Akins welcomed their second daughter, Ada James.
In July 2019, the Country superstar announced that he and Akins were expecting their third child, another girl.
