Nene Leakes Says She'll Be Discussing Open Marriage with Husband Gregg on RHOA as She Talks about Season 12

NeNe Leakes' marriage has been a hot topic in recent times, and that's not about to stop anytime soon as the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star reveals she and husband Gregg Leakes will be discussing open marriages.

Season 12 of the Bravo reality show premiered earlier this month, but while there's been plenty of drama already, it appears viewers are in for some more shocking developments.

In a recently uploaded RHOA teaser, NeNe, 51, had some interesting revelations about the state of her marriage to Gregg.

"...I would not be with Gregg, and I would tell Gregg very openly. You know, I don’t hold my tongue about stuff."

"This season, season 12, is taking on a whole new meaning in our relationship," said the boutique owner, who has been with Gregg for years.

NeNe continued:

"We're talking about a whole new relationship kind of situation you might want to tune in to hear about. It’s going to be quite interesting; you know, like open marriages? Now, I’m not sure if we're going to have an open marriage, but we’re definitely having a lot of open conversations."

When RHOA premiered in 2008, NeNe was married to Gregg. The couple, however, got divorced in 2011 before reconciling and tying the knot again in 2013.

Season 11 of the reality series followed NeNe and Gregg as they struggled in their marriage, but the latter's stage 3 cancer diagnosis eventually overshadowed relationship troubles.

By the time the season 11 reunion held, Gregg had been declared cancer-free, and his wife made it clear that divorce was not out of the option. With NeNe's latest statements, it does appear that all is still not well in the Leakes paradise.

The reality star, however, clarified her "open marriage" remark in a subsequent interview, claiming that it was just a conversation she was having with Gregg.

"We’re just really having a grown-up, adult conversation about open marriages," NeNe explained. "I wouldn’t want to have an open marriage and, if it really got to that point, I’d probably give Gregg the peace sign."

NeNe added that, while folks may have a lot to speculate about her marriage, she is only still Mrs. Leakes because she wants to be Mrs. Leakes.

"If I did not want to be with Gregg, I would not be with Gregg, and I would tell Gregg very openly," she assured. "You know, I don’t hold my tongue about stuff."

The RHOA OG also did not hold back when it came to discussing her frenemy Kenya Moore whose marriage troubles have been playing out on the current season.

NeNe made it clear that while she wishes Kenya well, "I'm not even interested in her marriage."
