Born to famous parents, Willow was thrust into the spotlight as early as 9 years old when she recorded her hit song, “Whip My Hair.”
At the time, Willow’s budding career was supported Will and Jada Pinkett Smith who were seasoned celebrities used to everything that came with their popularity.
However, the young Willow was not prepared for the work she had to put in to sustain her music career. In the middle of a 30-day tour with Justin Bieber, she decided she was done with the whole thing. She told Will she wanted to go home but Will insisted she finish the tour as committed to Jay Z.
HOW WILLOW TAUGHT HIM A VALUABLE LESSON
Will recalled this story when he sat down for an episode of HBO’s “The Shop: Uninterrupted.”
“Willow hit me hard,” he told the other men on the show which included LeBron James and his "Bad Boys" co-star, Martin Lawrence. He then revealed what Willow did to send a message to him that she was done.
She confessed in her show, “Red Table Talk” that she held a grudge against her father because he was too harsh on her at the time.

“She went to her room that night, I went to my room," the actor recalled. "She comes down that morning. She shaved her head bald in the middle of her “Whip My Hair” tour."
The men around him laughed. Someone joked, “The song doesn’t work so well without hair.”
Will further said that his daughter certainly taught him a valuable lesson that day and he heard it. “Baby I got it,” he told her.
HOW WILLOW FELT AT THE TIME
On her part, Willow admitted last year that it was an act of rebellion. She just wanted to tell the world that she was done with the whole thing. She confessed in her show, “Red Table Talk” that she held a grudge against her father because he was too harsh on her at the time. She revealed it took her two years to forgive him.
Willow further shared that she had to learn to forgive herself too for feeling guilty by not understanding what others expected of her.
We totally understand considering she was still a child who deserved to enjoy her childhood and not be tied with work.
