Chris Brown Shares Adorable Throwback Photo with His Mother Joyce Hawkins

Pop singer Chris Brown went back memory lane with a recent post on his Instagram page, sharing a throwback picture of himself as a kid, alongside his mother, Joyce Hawkins.

In the picture, the "With You" singer smiled happily as he rested his head on his mother's hair, while she also smiled as they looked at the camera. In captioning the post, Chris Brown wrote:

"NATIVE MOMMA's BOY."

The singer's fans were delighted, with over 700,000 of them liking the post, and over 5000 of them commented on the adorable picture. One of the fans thought that Brown's daughter, Royalty looks like him as a kid, and said;

"Lol at @missroyaltybrown now SHE deff resembles you as a kid."

Another fan said: "look at Royalty whole face lol," while a third fan likened Chris's youthful look to that of a television character, saying: "Tell me bruh don't look like Cody from Zach and Cody [emoji]."

However, some other fans took their impressions of the post to a whole different level. Chris Brown shared a picture on his Instagram Story, where one fan compared his throwback look to that of actor Ryan Gosling.

Hawkins felt that the criticisms were ridiculous to her, and she was thus compelled to speak up for Chris, though she usually doesn't comment on controversial news about him.

Chris Brown shares a close relationship with his mother, and if that fact wasn't well-proven with his post, then her comments while coming to the singer's defense in July showed that.

Chris Brown faced strong criticism following the release of his album, "Indigo." One of the songs on the album, "Need a Stack," saw the singer use the lyrics, "Only wanna [explicit] the [explicit] with the nice hair."

Those lyrics saw many come for the singer, as they felt disappointed in his "colorist" beauty standard. However, in an Instagram Story post, Joyce Hawkins leaped to the defense of her son.

In the post, Hawkins shared her thoughts on the criticisms leveled against her son, reportedly writing: "Headline news!!!! Hair!!! Seriously???! Now what has this world come to?????" in her caption.

Hawkins felt that the criticisms were ridiculous to her, and she was thus compelled to speak up for Chris, though she usually doesn't comment on controversial news about him.

Joyce Hawkins has always been present for her son throughout his career, lending her support to him during his times of struggle.

However, when she is not busy helping take care of Royalty or coming to the defense of her son, Joyce Hawkins enjoys being in the spotlight herself.

This was evidenced in the post the proud mother made back in January, as she shared photos of a photoshoot she had done.

In the photos, the RnB singer's mother looked gorgeous as she modeled her outfit, also paying accolades to those behind her stunning look.

Looking at Chris Brown's mother, it is not surprising to see where he got his good looks and talent from.
