William Dafoe and his wife Giada Colagrande, although they may look like an odd pair, have a lot in common than people think. Here's a closer look at the actor's partner.

GETTING TO KNOW GIADA COLAGRANDE

Colagrande was born in Italy but studied around the globe, in countries including Switzerland, Australia, and Italy.

While Dafoe is a Hollywood star, his wife is likewise an actress, director, and screenwriter in Italy. At the young age of 26, Cologrande wrote, directed, and starred in her first film, "Aprimi il Cuore" or "Open My Heart."

The Italian artist is Dafoe's second wife following his marriage with Elizabeth LeCompte, whom he founded The Performance Group with.

In 2002, the movie premiered at the Venice Film Festival and followed at the Tribeca Film Festival, Paris Cinema, and several others.

She later made her second film called "Before It Had a Name," later changed to "Black Widow," in 2005, where Dafoe starred and co-wrote.

In 2010, she wrote and directed "A Woman," and two years later worked on "Bob Wilson's Life & Death of Marina Abramovic," which starred her husband.

A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH DAFOE

It only took a year for Dafoe to propose to Colagrande, and on March 25, 2005, they tied the knot -- a year after they met. The actor shared:

"We were having lunch and I said, 'Do you want to get married tomorrow?'"

Together, the former couple share one son, Jack, who is a Yale graduate and worked for the New York Apollo Alliance. Jack said of the organization:

"We're the first organization to focus on renewable energy and job creation. We need to address global warming, and if we do that, we'll create a lot of jobs at the same time."

WILLEM DAFOE

Dafoe made his film debut in "Streets of Fire," where he played Raven Shaddock. In his over 100 acting credits, he has died over 24 times.

However, in real life, the actor is vigilant of his health and does Ashtanga yoga to maintain his physical strength and get meditation.

He has also appeared in several comic book movies but has yet to appear on the Marvel Cinematic Universe films.

In the "Spider-Man" trilogy, Dafoe played Norman Osborn, who had the moniker Green Goblin. Hence, his appearance in the MCU is not far from happening.
