Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Decision to Step Back from Royal Duties Sparks Mixed Reactions from Celebrities
Following the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to step back on their duties as senior royals, many celebrities have taken to social media to voice their support for the Sussex Royals.
British actress Jameela Jamil led the show of support from celebrities, as she responded to a Sky Breaking News tweet of the news of Meghan and Harry's announcement, and tweeted:
"And that folks, is what power looks like. [emoji]."

Comedian Amy Schumer offered light-hearted support for Meghan and Harry on Instagram, posting a photo of her and husband, Chris Fischer pushing her as she sat on a 1-seat cart, holding some belongings. She captioned the post thus:
"Chris and I are formally stepping down from our royal duties. We appreciate your support."
There was also a post on Instagram by author Maria Shriver, who posted a picture of Meghan and Harry's announcement. In her long caption, Maria stated that the decision by the Royals was big news.
She opined that people often had to step back, reflect, reassess, and re-enter in a new way, and also urged people to support the young royal couple in their quest to carve out their own lives.

Candace Owens, in her tweet, said that she predicted three months ago that Meghan Markle always wanted to convince her husband to quit his royal duties and step into the A-List Hollywood life.
Candace added that Meghan never wanted to be royal, but has always wanted fame, and ended her tweet by saying the Duchess of Sussex has accomplished her mission.
Matt Chorley also tweeted about the announcement, asking,
"Hang on, this means Meghan can play Meghan in the crown, doesn't it?"
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sprung a surprise recently when they announced their intention to step back as members of the Senior Royal Family members.
In making the announcement, Meghan and Harry stated that they would work to become financially independent while continuing to support the Queen.
They also stated that they would try to balance their time between the UK and North America, and raise Prince Archie in the tradition into which he was born.
