Rihanna is feeling positive about the new year, ringing it in with a gorgeous bare-faced selfie that showcased her glowing skin and neatly-done braids.

While Rihanna hasn't released new music yet, something that fans have been waiting for for years, she kicked off the new decade with a selfie that showed off her natural beauty.

THE FIRST RIHANNA SELFIE IN 2020

The "Disturbia" singer posted a bare-faced selfie on Instagram, aptly captioning it with "first selfie of the year doe. #2020."

Rihanna has been focusing on building her Fenty empire recently, which she's been doing simultaneously with creating a new album.

No Fenty beauty products in sight, Rihanna smiled for a picture, and of course, fans were quick to share their love for the singer.

FANS DEMANDING FOR AN ALBUM

However, there were some who chose to focus on one major flaw, which was a tiny pimple near her chin. Some fans even went so far as to find a connection between her pimple and the album which she has yet to release.

TEASING FANS OVER HER ALBUM

Rihanna has been teasing her curious fans about her new album release, one time even posting a video of a dog dancing to loud music which she likened to herself listening to her album.

"Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it."

ON HER NEW ALBUM'S SOUND

"R9" is supposedly Rihanna's ninth music project since entering the music scene, and during previous interviews, she disclosed what her fans can expect from it.

"I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album. It's not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae, but you're going to feel the elements in all of the tracks."

BALANCING RETAIL AND MUSIC

It's been quite a rollercoaster ride for the singer's fans, as Rihanna has been focusing on building her Fenty empire recently, which she's been doing simultaneously with creating a new album.

Ultimately, her Fenty business took off quickly, and it left her trying to balance her time between both of her passions.
