Minnesota Mom Bridgette Armstrong Writes Honest & Emotional Post on Challenges of Being a Stay-At-Home Parent
A woman took to social media to share an emotional post revealing the challenges a full-time stay-at-home parent faces while raising kids.
Bridgette Armstrong has been a stay-at-home mother since her daughter was five months old. Feeling overwhelmed on a particularly lonely day, she took to her Facebook page to write about the challenges she faces every day as a stay-at-home mom.
"Everyone thinks being a stay-at-home mom full time is easy. That we are lucky to be able not to have to work. That we are lazy. But the truth is, it's lonely and overwhelming."

Her next words revealed a lot about her reality as a full-time mom.
, she often had little or no time to herself, and she also regularly had to ignore caring for herself.
The negative comments took Armstrong by surprise.
The woman goes on to observe that caring for her child full-time made her forget what it felt like to be an individual. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Armstrong admitted that she often judged other moms like her, but now she "gets it."

The frustrated mom also confessed to breaking down in front of her kid — an action she desperately regrets.
"I have screamed already Today, I have cried, and I have felt so guilty that my child was here to witness it. I am alone, and I am lonely."
At the end of her honest admissions, she advised people who have full-time moms as friends to check in on them because, in her words, they are "Not OK."
The post attracted both positive and negative comments from her followers on the platform. The negative comments took Armstrong by surprise, a fact she admitted to during an interview with Today.
During the interview, the 25-year-old mom claimed that the negative responses she got only proved that there is a stigma surrounding stay-at-home moms.
However, Armstrong says she believes that a lot of people could only relate negatively to her post because it revealed her less-than-perfect life as a full-time mother. Armstrong reportedly lives with her boyfriend of eight years.
