Something just had to give when Keanu Reeves and Diane Keaton got flirty while presenting the Best Original Screenplay category on Sunday at the 2020 Academy Awards.

Diane Keaton and Keanu Reeves kicked off their stint as presenters with friendly banter regarding the 2003 film "Something's Gotta Give," wherein the two also co-starred with Jack Nicholson.

Cheekily, Diane asked Keanu if he remembered that she starred in the beloved movie. "Yeah, you were amazing," Keanu replied before Diane smilingly returned the compliment with gusto.

"I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too.”

Keanu said that he will "never forget" reading the Nancy Meyers screenplay for the first time, and Diane concurred, although she added that there was "a lot of crying in there." Reflecting on the experience as a whole, Keanu said:

“Lots of laughing and crying and, well, we had some really, well, let’s be frank — it was a good time.”

Apart from his role as a presenter, Keanu also attended the Oscars on Sunday alongside his mother, Patricia Taylor since "Toy Story 4" received a nomination as well.

The actor voiced the character Duke Kaboom, and the animation ended up winning the Best Animated Feature category.

While Diane, Keanu, and Jack Nicholson became enthralled in a love triangle in "Something's Gotta Give," the 73-year-old actress remained an unmarried woman throughout her life.

Reflecting on her past romantic relationships, Diane already knew in high school that she didn't want to get married one day.

A guy from school told that Diane that she would make a good wife, and right then and there, she knew it's not what she wanted.

Despite her aversion to marriage due to being an "oddball," Diane dated several Hollywood stars, including Al Pacino, Woody Allen, and Warren Beatty.

Certain that the actors felt as much relief as she had at not making it down the aisle, Diane added:

“I don’t think it would have been a good idea for me to have married, and I’m really glad I didn’t, and I’m sure they’re happy about it, too.”

Hunky Keanu Reeves never tied the knot either, but he did go public with his relationship with the forty-six-year-old artist Alexandra Grant late last year.

While he is notoriously private about his personal life, Keanu and Alexandra stepped out on the red carpet together at the LACMA Art + Film Gala presented by Gucci in Los Angeles, California, in November last year.
