Before the match, William met with the injured players of the team who are being taken care of by the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust, a charity to which he is the patron.
The visit was the Duke's first official royal appointment since his break, which lasted about a week long. He was spotted having one on one with the team and moments from his meeting with them was shared on Instagram with the caption:
"Today, The Duke of Cambridge, Patron of @welshrugbyunion, attended the #WALvFRA 6 Nations match at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff."
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have always taken time off their royal duties to spend time with their kids whenever they get a break from school, and of course, this year was no different.
As their children's half term approached, the couple prepared to be hands-off royal work, and according to reports, they had the support of the Queen herself.
Ever since their departure, Kate and William have been closer than ever.
Although the Duke and Duchess have a lot more on their plate due to the departure of Harry and Meghan, the Queen understood the importance of family time. An insider said:
"[Kate and William] are trying not to let work to get in the way of their family time…and the Queen is on their side. She's supportive of their decision."
Likewise, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the difficult decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, the Queen gave them her blessing.
The Monarch showed full support to her grandson Harry and his family and expressed her gratitude for their dedication to the Palace thus far and also, specially, appreciated Meghan for adapting so quickly to their lifestyle.
Although the departure of the Sussex royals put more workload on Kate and William, it has also contributed in helping their relationship.
Ever since their departure, Kate and William have been closer than ever as they have been working closely together as a team and supporting each other.
