Kobe Bryant Once Showed up at Daughter Gigi's School in His Lakers Uniform and with a Gold Medal for Her on Career Day

Kobe Bryant will be remembered the most as one of the most legendary players ever to hold a basketball. However, his commitment to his family has endeared the icon to the hearts of even many more people after his passing.

Early yesterday, ESPN tweeted a picture of a "Kobe" moment. In the photo, the basketball star kneels beside Gianna in his full Los Angeles Lakers gear, while his 2008 Olympic gold medal dangles around the cute little girl's neck. ESPN captioned the picture:

"Gigi wanted Kobe to come to her school's Career Day. He showed up in full uniform and with a gold medal (via @mcten)."

It's common knowledge that Career Day in schools across the country is one of the essential extra-curricular activities of the entire school year.

Kobe and Gianna always had a special relationship, as she was also an avid basketball fan and player who had aspirations of playing in the WNBA someday.

At the Career day event, Kobe decided to embrace his line of work by donning his full gear, thereby bringing the Black Mamba in all its glory to Gianna's school.

At the event, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe's widow, delivered a moving eulogy in which she pointed out Kobe's commitment to his family and how he never put anything above them.

Kobe, Gianna and seven others lost their lives on January 26th in a fatal helicopter crash. Their emotional memorial service which took place on February 24th brought the world to the Staples Center.

Thousands of people – including fans, friends, and members of the sports and entertainment industries – gathered at the famous arena to pay their last respects to the man who exemplified excellence and dedication to the sport of basketball.

In one of her many examples, Vanessa reminisced about a romantic gesture he showed her back in 2013 when he bought her the dress worn by Rachel McAdams in the 2004 romantic drama "The Notebook."

The wife of Kobe who was a basketball legend and a family man who will be deeply missed by many all over the world explained that,

"When I asked him why he chose the blue dress, he said it was because it's the scene when Allie comes back to Noah. We had hoped to grow old together like the movie. We really had an amazing love story."
