In a 2014 article published by Elle, Isabel wrote, "There's nothing like growing up around a successful actor to make you realize how unglamorous of a life it really is."

According to Isabel, when she and her sister Lily were in elementary school, their mother, Christine, was picked to star as Cybill Sheperd's best friend in the hit sitcom "Cybill."

MORE COMPLEX

Up to that point, Christine and her husband actor Matthew Cowles, who died from congestive heart failure in May 2014, worked on-stage in New York.

Isabel said that her parents dealt with the two-hour drive to their home by means of a transport or on her father's motorcycle.

However, when "Cybill" struck, her mother's commute became even more complicated. The actress only returned home for twelve days per month.

COMPLETELY CHANGED THEIR LIVES

"A sitcom salary in the 1990s meant a lot of money and attention," Isabel shared. "Pretty quickly, we went from being kids with a quiet life to being kids who were told not to cry in the airport because 'people are watching.'"

Isabel usually didn't disclose to her friends that her mother was an actress. However, people constantly discovered.

They got to live the kind of life that mattered to their parents, which is presently the kind of life that matters to them.

HER REALIZATION

She said she gets the impression that people who make the connection expect that she had been exposed to something special.

At some point, her mother's driver told her that the actress cried each time they pulled away from the house. Isabel realized it was always apparent that they owed all of their chances to those challenging years.
