Whoopi Goldberg Skips 'The View' to Consult with Her Doctor Amid Coronavirus Pandemic
On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, “The View” announced that co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, had chosen to not be present on the day’s episode to get checked out by her doctor amid the coronavirus outbreak.
A few days before Goldberg, 64, took the day off from “The View,” her co-host, Joy Behar, 70, revealed that she was taking time off from the show. Her decision was based on the worldwide pandemic of the coronavirus.
She explained that she would be gone for at least a week amid the pandemic. Scientists have revealed that elderly people have a heightened risk to the virus.

The comedienne joked that her intention was to “make everybody smile.” On January 29, 2020, during the show's episode things weren’t so cheery when Golberg got into an argument with co-host, Meghan McCain.
