The “Boogie Nights” actor has led quite the life journey and has come a long way since his troubled teenage years, and he has been blessed with a devoted wife that has been by his side for two decades.

48-year-old actor and one-time singer Mark Wahlberg has led a prolific and successful career that has earned him both Academy Awards and Golden Globes nomination, having starred in films like “The Departed” and “The Fighter.”

But behind this remarkable career in show business, there was once a man that had lost the way because of his bad choices, until a meaningful love took over his life and turned him into the man he is today.

Wahlberg is the first to acknowledge that his wife changed him for the best, and she deserves her credit. This is what theirs is to know about the love of this Hollywood actor’s wife, 41-year-old former model Rhea Durham.

Born on July 01, 1978, in Lakeland, Florida, Durham started modeling at age 17, after graduating from Lakeland Senior High School. Since then, she has worked with some of the most prestigious fashion magazines.

Her modeling career peaked in the early 2000s, when she signed up with big fashion designers in Europe (Versace, Valentino, Chanel, Christian Dior) and walked for the “Victoria Secret Fashion Shows.”

Durham met her future husband Wahlberg in 2001, when she was enjoying much fame for being the image of Revlon, and it didn’t take to long before the two became romantically involved.

Their paths crossed in New York City, where Wahlberg was promoting a film at the time, and the actor asked her on a date right away, never imagining that the two were going to share four children in the following decade.

As Wahlberg told People on the couple’s 10th anniversary of marriage, his choice of a place for their first date was rather unusual, but it gave him a sense that she “was the one,” as the star put it:

“I knew shortly after that she was the one, but I still had to make sure that I was able to be the man I needed to be.”

Wahlberg famously got in trouble with the law in his teenage years, to the point of serving 45 days behind bars a couple of years before he debuted with his first number-one single as a frontman of Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch.

While his jail time at an early age effectively took Wahlberg away from the criminal path, his love life was deeply affected by this event, because he went to a breakup as a consequence and had trouble trusting his heart again.

“It was not until I met my wife and we had our daughter that I went, ‘Oh my God, this is happening to me for a reason’” the “Planet of the Apes” star told The Red Bulletin in 2013.

Wahlberg and Durham tied the knot in 2009, after eight years of dating and having welcomed their first three children already. The past June 27, 2019, the couple celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary in Sardinia, Italy.

The actor took to his Twitter account back then to mark the milestone, sharing a picture of him next to his wife that she captioned “Summer vacation with my wife and kids,” adding the word “gratitude” as a hashtag.

“She has helped me become the man that I am and created a beautiful life for me and our children,” Wahlberg told The Sun in 2008.

Durham has given birth to four children in the course of the nearly 20 years that she has spent as Wahlberg's life partner, welcoming daughter Ella in September 2003.

Ella is already 16 and is eager to learn how to drive, but due to a bad experience in a golf cart in the company of her father, those plans are currently on hold, as Wahlberg hilariously shared with TV host Jimmy Kimmel recently.

14-year-old Michael is the couple older son, and like his brother Brendan, 11, he has been all about sports since Wahlberg can remember.

The youngest of the bunch, 10-year-old daughter Grace, arrived at the family a year after Durham and Wahlberg finally exchanged vows in Beverly Hills in 2009.
